VISION

CORE BUSINESS OF THE COMPANY

The core business of IJM Corporation Berhad is divided into 4 businesses:

1. Construction: They are experts in the civil engineering field especially in building
construction. Their projects include bridges, highways, utilities, railways, metro
systems, and buildings which are commercial and cultural complexes including
shopping malls and other public buildings.

2. Property development: IJM's entry into property development had its start as an
obvious development from its previous work in the construction industry. IJM Land
Berhad has built up its reputation as one of Malaysia's major property developers with
nature townships, business establishments, and high-rise condominiums.

3. Industry: The company expands its activity by focusing on demand from outside of
the company and around the world. Their signature projects are Second Penang
Bridge, Penang, Malaysia, Garden By The Bay, Singapore, Phoenix Hotel, Forest
City, Johor, Malaysia, and International Cruise Terminal, Marina South, Singapore.
4. Infrastructure: IJM company focuses on two infrastructures which are tolls and
ports. They said infrastructure is a good investment in its own right. Their projects are
Kuantan Port, Power Plant in India, a toll concession, and a water treatment plant in
Vietnam.

THE OVERALL ORGANIZATION

DIVISION

➔ IJM Corporation Berhad has several divisions which are Construction Division,
Property Development Division, Industry Division, and Infrastructure Division.

SECTION

➔ Construction Division: There are several sections such as building construction,


building services, facilities, civil engineering, and more.

➔ Property Development division: There are IJM Land and the township nature project.

➔ Industry Division: There are IJM’s quarrying business, Strong Mixed Concrete Sdn
Bhd and Durabon Sdn Bhd to make and make elements and to supply for the
upcoming project.

➔ Infrastructure Division: The section is divided into four parts which are water
treatment, power plant facilities, port, and toll concession.

DEPARTMENT AND UNIT

➔ Departments in IJM Corporation Berhad appropriate to their business may include


Project Management, Engineering, Surveyor, Human Resources & Administration,
Sales & Marketing, Legal, Senior Executive, Property Development, Project
Assistant, and many others depending on the department and division they need.
OUR OPINION ON HOW THE COMPANY HAS STATED ITS VISION, MISSION,
AND GOALS IN TERMS OF CLARITY, ATTAINABILITY, AND SUSTAINABILITY

Vision

A clear vision statement should be concise and should indicate the company's long-term
objectives. The statement 'To become a leading Malaysian conglomerate in the markets we
serve' is clear and concise. The vision can give aspiration to the company to be the best in the
industry, can motivate people, and can attract stakeholders. In terms of accessibility, it is to be
a leading company in the industry that provides services that are outstanding but can be
achieved by the IJM Corporation Berhad. Thus, in terms of sustainability, aligning the vision
with the principles and rapid development is very important for IJM Corporation Berhad. If
IJM has developed a vision in mind It will have a better chance of achieving its goals and
helping its business and society thrive sustainably.

Mission

IJM Corporation's mission statement 'Our mission is to deliver sustainable value to our
stakeholders and enrich life with the IJM Mark of Excellence' is clear because the mission
can show the company's commitment to important stakeholders such as customers,
employees, and shareholders. The mission can motivate employees and attract stakeholders.
In terms of accessibility, implementing sustainable development is a challenging mission but
can be achieved by IJM Corporation. IJM Corporation can achieve this goal by focusing on
customer needs, implementing high-quality projects, and promoting social responsibility. As
a result, IJM Corporation can create long-term value for its stakeholders and contribute to the
sustainable development of the industry. Next in terms of sustainability is to align its mission
with the principles and practices of sustainable development. For example, adopting
sustainable business practices and being able to contribute to the achievement of the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Overall, IJM Corporation is
well-positioned to achieve its objectives and contribute to the sustainable development of its
industry and society.
Goals

A strategic effort to establish a solid reputation and long-term sustainable business practices
is the company's goal to extend service standards to promote trust in the long term to all
stakeholders. In terms of attainability, this goal can be accomplished by combining strategic
planning, effective implementation, continuous monitoring, and improvement. The company
has built a strong reputation for sustainability by providing high-quality services and being a
good corporate citizen, which enables it to offer investors reasonable returns.

Next, one of IJM Corporation's goals is to provide a safe workplace. The organization wants
to make sure that every employee can operate in a setting that is risk-free for their health and
safety. In terms of accessibility, this objective can be met by putting into place efficient health
and safety rules and practices, such as ensuring equipment safety and holding frequent
training and awareness programs. In terms of sustainability, it can lower the chance of
workplace mishaps and injuries, which could harm the business's operations and reputation.
Long-term, this may result in higher production and happier workers.
EXPLAINING WHETHER THE GOALS ARE IN LINE WITH THE BUSINESS OF THE
COMPANY

Based on the goals ' of expanding service principles to foster trust in the long term to all
stakeholders are in line with the core business of IJM Corporation. This is because IJM
operates in various sectors such as the construction sector, infrastructure, real estate, and so
on. To be successful in business depends on strong relationships with all parties. As a result,
trust in the long term can be obtained by extending the principle of service. This goal is
aligned with IJM Corporation's business because it is important to build a strong reputation,
achieve rapid growth and be able to maximize value to stakeholders.

Furthermore, IJM Corporation's primary business is consistent with providing a safe


environment for workers. The health and happiness of the company's employees are essential
to its ability to succeed as a diverse conglomerate with operations in infrastructure, real estate
development, and other sectors. The company can lower the risk of workplace accidents and
injuries which can result in expensive legal actions and compensation thus, can have a bad
influence on the company's reputation and profitability. IJM Corporation's fundamental
business, to put it briefly, includes ensuring that employees have a safe workplace. It
promotes the company's beliefs and aims to improve the product in addition to being under
the company's legal and ethical obligations.

Additionally, IJM Corporation's main business is consistently exceeding expectations in


terms of product and service performance. This is so that it may continue to compete
successfully with other corporate companies by offering high-quality goods and services. IJM
Corporation can distinguish itself from rivals, draw in and keep clients, and produce steady
revenue growth. This emphasis on quality is also consistent with the company's objective,

Overall, these goals align with the company's core business as it is important to build a solid

EXPLANATION OF THE ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE AND
JUSTIFICATION FOR WHETHER IT IS SUITABLE OR OTHERWISE

A company's organizational structure describes how an organization is planned and organized


according to relationships, hierarchy, and the division of tasks and responsibilities. It
describes the organization's reporting structure, decision-making procedures, and
coordination methods. Organizational structure is important because it promotes clarity and
order, enables effective collaboration and communication, and helps achieve company goals.
One of the important things in the organizational structure is to clarify the roles and
responsibilities of employees in the company. By defining reporting lines and chains of
command, employees know to whom they report and to whom they are accountable. This
clarity reduces confusion, avoids duplication of effort, and ensures that tasks and projects are
assigned to the right individuals or groups.

For example, IJM is a leading construction company in Malaysia and its suitability as an
organization will depend on several things. First and foremost, IJM has built a strong
reputation over the years for providing high-quality construction projects. Various
construction and infrastructure projects have been completed by the company demonstrating
its competence and industry knowledge. This achievement proves that IJM has the technical
knowledge and skills required to undertake challenging construction projects.

Second, the company's organizational structure is an important factor in influencing its


efficiency and effectiveness. The organizational structure of IJM is called structured and
hierarchical. Its different lines of authority and responsibility enable efficient
decision-making and smooth collaboration between different departments. This organized

Moreover, IJM also adheres to strict health and safety regulations and prioritizes safety. The

To sum up, based on the facts presented, IJM is considered a suitable organization. A proven

PROPOSAL FOR AMENDMENTS OR IMPROVEMENTS THAT THE COMPANY
SHOULD CONSIDER

There are some suggestions that we would like the company to consider. First and foremost,
the company can consider organizing an Employee Wellness Program. A company should
consider implementing employee wellness programs to enhance the health and well-being of
its workforce. These programs may include gym memberships, healthy eating programs,
stress management, and mental health services. Besides, the company needs to create an
inclusive environment that promotes diversity and encourages equal opportunity. This can be
achieved by implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives that promote cultural awareness,
provide training, and support underrepresented groups. This initiative is also good for the
worker’s mental health and well-being.

Furthermore, companies should consider adopting sustainable business practices to reduce


their impact on the environment. These may include energy-efficient equipment, waste
reduction, and recycling programs, and using eco-friendly materials. Companies should
consider adopting corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices by supporting social and
environmental causes that align with their values. This may include charitable donations,
volunteer work, and partnerships with non-profit organizations.

Moreover, companies should consider staying up-to-date with the latest technological
advancements and innovations to improve their business operations and stay ahead of
competitors. This may involve investing in new software, hardware, or research and
development. With the increasing use of technology, companies can enhance data security
