Child Right Policy: Adopting the Rights-Based Education Framework in the
Phils. Basic Education

Discussant: KATHLEEN GRACE P. SAJONIA

-The session started with the DepEd Order 031 s. 2022 which is the legal basis of today’s
session.
-The session discusses about the different rights of a child to and in education. The center of
Philippine basic education is the child and learner. The Department of education envision all of
the schools as a child-friendly education that can cater the holistic development of each child in
school.
-As a public servant we are oblige to ensure the protection of children at all cost.
As an adult we need to report if we see cases of child abuse in all forms.
-As educators we need to take child protection seriously. Child protection is both a necessity
and a top priority.
- If we see child abuse we need to report it immediately. Turning blind is never an
answer. For all reported child-abuse incidents, DepED requires that the child’s best
interest be the first priority. In addition, all incidents must be dealt with promptly, and
they must be handled in a confidential manner that does not harm the victim or the
person reporting the abuse.
- preventing abuse entirely is the ultimate goal for any child-aid organization. Deped believes
that we must do everything in our power to reduce cases of abuse as much as possible to help
ensure children’s safety. The key to our strategy is education. When learners know their rights
it will be easier for them to identify that they are being abused. People in the environment of
the child must also be aware of the rights of every child to refrain from doint it.

V. Other Matters
- Teacher adviser must echo all the rights of learners during Homeroom Guidance time.
