Trio Gioconda De Vito, concert proposal.

Dear friend,

the TRIO GIOCONDA DE VITO is pleased to bring to your attention a concert proposal of
chamber music to be included in your musical season or in your musical and cultural
programming.
Dedicated to one of the greatest Italian violinist of the '900, the "Gioconda De Vito" Piano
Trio is the chamber music ensemble in residence of the “Paolo Grassi Foundation” of
Martina Franca (Taranto, Italy).

Born artistically in 2016, the Trio regularly participates in the concerts of the same
Foundation, for which recently has realized a project dedicated to Shostakovich conducted
by the famous italian musicologist Sandro Cappelletto, also presented at the 43rd "Festival
della Valle D'Itria".
Winner of national and international competitions, such as the "Pugliaexport" 2017
competition, the Trio performed in a tour in Catalonia in October 2017 in prestigious
concert halls ("Reial Museo de la Academia de Bellas Artes" and "Reial Cercle Artistic",
Barcelona).
The performers - Silvia Grasso, violin; Liubov Gromoglasova, piano; Gaetano Simone,
cello - come from classical training studies and for years have devoted themselves to
teaching and concert activities in the field of solo, chamber music and orchestra, with
repertoires ranging from baroque to contemporary music.

Silvia Grasso, violin

Silvia Grasso begun the study of the violin at the age of 7

under the guidance of Ida Pagliarulo, then continued with
Claudia Lapolla and Fabio Cafaro at the conservatoire "G.
Paisiello”, in Taranto (Italy). In 2007, at age 17, she
graduated with full marks, honors and mention.
In the years of training she attended courses and
mastercasses held by the masters F. Cafaro, S. Milenkovich, W.Daga, E. Denisova, F.
Manara, F. Cusano, M. Fornaciari; she competed in numerous national and international
competitions by categories, always resulting 1st or 2nd prize winner. In 2010 and 2011 she
perfected with Maestro F. Mezzena, also at the Euroarts in Wuppertal. In 2011 she
attended the courses of "Coloustrings", a teaching method of starting the violin, with G.
Szilvay, at the Mozarteum of Salzburg, and those of improvement held by the violinist U.
Danhofer. In 2012 she participated in the recording of the CD "Beyond the good and the
sea", published with the label "Le tracce" and financed by “Puglia Sounds”, continuing to
improve the violin with U. Danhofer and with L. Micucci; she held numerous concerts of
chamber music, also in collaboration with the musicologist S. Cappelletto. In the same
year she approached with her brother, the guitarist Livio Grasso, a study on the Austrian
composer Ferdinand Rebay and, in duo, she held many monographic concerts; during the
seasons 2013 and 2014, under the guidance of prestigious conductors, she covered the
role of "tutti violin" in the Orchestra of the “Fondazione Petruzzelli and Teatri di Bari”.
In 2014 she took part, as a solo violin, in the recording of the CD "I Tesori del Barocco",
performing the Bach Concerto for two violins BWV 1043, published by "Soundiff -
Diffrazioni sonore" under the patronage of the Puglia Region.
At the moment she is both a violinist and a didactical manager; she teaches violin in
secondary schools and at the “Rusalka Academy” of Carosino (TA). She is the violinist of
the "Gioconda de Vito" Piano Trio. She is still a “tutti violin” of the Orchestra of the
Petruzzelli Theater of Bari and also collaborates - for the realization of chamber concerts -
with the “Accademia dei Cameristi di Bari”, with the “Paolo Grassi Foundation” of Martina
Franca, with the “Festival della Chitarra di Mottola”, the "Amici della Musica" Association of
Taranto, with the "Paisiello" Festival and, as a principal violinist with numerous musical
orchestras in the provinces of Taranto, Lecce, Bari, Brindisi and Matera.
 Liubov Gromoglasova, piano

Born in Riga in 1982, from 1999 to 2003 she studied at the

Academic Junior Music College in collaboration with the
Moscow Conservatory in two parallel courses: Piano and
Theory of Music. In 2003 she obtained both diplomas with full
marks.
In 2008 she graduated with honors in the Tchaikovsky
Conservatory of Moscow, in the class of Elena Kuznetsova
(solo piano), in the class of Elena Sorokina (Chamber
Ensemble, piano duo), in the class of Irina Osipova
(accompaniment).
Between 2009 and 2011 she continued her studies following courses in musical education
at the Moscow Conservatory, in the classes of Elena Kuznetsova (solo piano) and Elena
Sorokina (piano duo).
She participated in master classes with the following piano teachers: Christopher Elton
(Royal Academy of Music), William Fong (Purcell Scool of Music), Andrew Haigh (Kent
School of Music), Ruth Harte (Royal Academy of Music), Aglika Genoa and Liuben
Dimitrov (Hannover Music and Drama Academy).
She performed successfully in Moscow and abroad as a soloist, in piano duo with her
sister Anastasia, with orchestra and in various musical ensembles.
Among the competitions in which she participated: Rubinstein Competition of chamber
ensembles (Moscow, 2006) - 3rd prize (piano duo with his sister Anastasia
Gromoglasova); in London in the International Music Competition (2007) - 1st prize (solo
piano) and 1st prize (piano duo); International Competition for chamber music and piano
duo "Shostakovich" (Moscow); San Marino International Plan and Piano Duo Competition
(San Marino, 2010) - Diploma; A. Bakhchiev International Piano Duo Competition
(Vologda, 2011) - 1st prize; "Muse of the world" competition for international soloists and
chamber ensembles (Moscow, 2012) - 1st prize; Vincenzo Vitti International Music
Competition (Italy, 2016) - 1st prize.
Among the festivals in which she took part: North London Piano School Festival (Great
Britain, 2007); Classical Music Festival in Troitsk (Russia, 2008); F. Mendelssohn Moscow
Festival (Russia, 2009); Festival of the Valle d'Itria (Martina Franca, Italy, 2015, 2016). She
was selected as a subsidized student of the "Performing Russian Art" Fund (2009-2010).
 Gaetano Simone, cello

Gaetano Simone is the cellist of the “Gioconda de Vito” Piano

Trio (stable chamber music group of the Paolo Grassi
Foundation of Martina Franca) and the Modus String Quartet
(stable group of the Teatro Traetta di Bitonto), with whom he
regularly performs in Italy and abroad.
He studied with Saverio Loiacono to whom he entitled a
scholarship dedicated to young talents who perform during “Les
Violoncelles Reunis”, a cello festival in Polignano a Mare (Ba).
He graduated with full marks and honours in the conservatoire of
Bari studying with N.Fiorino.
He attended masterclasses with: Harvey Shapiro, Enrico Bronzi, Vito Paternoster,
Francesco Pepicelli, Enrico Dindo, Ivan Monighetti, Massimo Polidori, Tamas Varga, Olaf
Maninger, Arto Noras, Antonio Meneses, Wolfgang Boettcher, Wen-sin Yang, Massimo
Macrì.
His recordings include titles such as the String Quartets by Philip Trajetta, the Quintet for
strings quartet and piano by A.Rendano, the "Quatuor pour la Fin du Temps" by
O.Messiaen, "Drei Kleine Stucke" by A .Webern.
Taking care of the historically informed cello practice, in 2015 he published the CD "Le
Muse Napolitane" (Digressione Music), a historical research of the Neapolitan repertoire of
the eighteenth century for his instrument.
The activity and educational research sees him intensely engaged in regular courses and
international masterclasses with numerous students in order to spread the enthusiasm for
music and cello among young people.
In 2017 he was the absolute winner of the cello and chamber music competition for
teaching in the high schools of music (liceo musicale) with the highest marks at national
level in each field (theory, culture, performance).
He plays an Italian gorgeous instrument made in 1700/1710 attributed to David Tecchler
(Rome).
