Note: If you are connecting onsite at a Lockheed Martin facility begin with step 1. Otherwise,
if you are connecting virtually from a non-Lockheed Martin location proceed to step 2.
1. Launch your wireless configuration settings and select the network called CORP-INTERNET.
2. Enter the CORP-INTERNET password credentials listed in the section above as CORP INTERNET
WiFi Password.
3. A prompt will appear requesting a Guest Username and Guest Password. Enter the LM
Guest WiFi User and LM Guest WiFi Password into the login prompt.
4. You are now connected to the internet. Proceed to Step 5 to connect to the CyberQuest
network.
5. Connect to the AWS VPN Client using instructions in the VPN CLIENT SETUP GUIDE (see PAGE 3).
6. You are now connected to the competition network.
While connected to VPN you have access to the CyberQuest competition computing environment. You
can now connect to the chat and scoreboard apps listed on page 2 of this document.
The two Windows Server machines listed above may have up to 2 active RDP connections each using the
different usernames for a maximum of 4 active RDP connections.
The Kali machine may have numerous SSH connections with the single account listed above.
NOTE: If you need callbacks to your attack machine from a target machine, use the IP address listed in
the table above under column title “IP”.
Use the credentials listed below to login to the Chat and Scoreboard Global Services listed above.

What do I use the announcements / chat server for?
We recommend you sign into the announcements site and check the #announcements channel often
during the competition in case new information is released about a challenge.
Support
If you need support during the competition please post a question to your team’s private chat room
which will be visible once you log into the chat server. Lockheed Martin volunteers will be monitoring
the channels to answer any questions you may have.
Pre-requisites
You will need the following items from the INITIAL SETUP (see page 1) to complete the VPN client
setup:
1. Client VPN Username
2. Client VPN Password
3. Team Region
Step 1. Access the Self-Service Portal to download the Client VPN Software and .ovpn
configuration file.
a. Browse to the self-service portal URL listed below.

b. Enter your Client VPN Username and password as listed within the INITIAL SETUP (see
page 1).

c. The AWS Client VPN Self-Service Portal will appear.

d. Select the Download client configuration button
e. The .ovpn file has now been downloaded to your local system (annotate its location as
you will need this information during the import step below).
g. Follow the Install setup wizard to complete the AWS Client VPN Installation.

Step 2. Import the cvpn-endpoint-<various numbers/letters>.ovpn file to Client VPN
a. Launch the AWS Client VPN software installed in Step 1e.
b. Choose File -> Manage Profiles
c. Select Add Profile
d. Enter a Display Name
e. Select your cvpn-endpoint-<various numbers/letters>.ovpn file download in Step 1g.
f. Click Add Profile
g. Select Done.
i. Enter your username and password into the prompt and click OK (as shown below)

4. Head over to the INITIAL SETUP (see page 1) and check out the TEAM CONNECTION
INFORMATION section to login to your Windows Jumpbox system using the Client VPN
username and Client VPN password specified.

Kali GUI
Please follow the instructions below to access the Kali GUI from your Windows Jumpbox.
Pre-requisite
1. Successfully connected to the Cyberquest Competition Network via VPN as defined in the VPN
Setup Guide
Step 1. Connect to your Kali Jumpbox via ssh using the credentials provided within your
Team Connection Information – see Initial Setup for IP address, username and password
information.
Step 2. Run vncserver command to launch a new ‘X’ session.

Step 3. Enter a password of your choice (be sure to write it down as you’ll need it to
access the gui from your jumpbox)
Step 5. Enter “n” to the Would you like to enter a view-only password (y/n) prompt ?

New ‘X’ Session will be created as shown below.
Step 6. RDP into your Windows Jumpbox virtual machine and launch Tiger VNC (shortcut
is on the desktop).
Step 4. Enter the IP address of your Kali jumpbox with :1 appended as shown below and
click connect.
Step 5. Enter the vnc password created in Step 3 above and click OK to launch the GUI.

Step 6. Browse the GUI.
