Rumor says "no

name" teacher is

already waiting

another child...
Unexpected fonts started spreading

a rumor across the school,

regarding our dearest biology

teacher.
They published a tweet, we quote
"I've heard "no name's" already

expecting another child of his

own.
I think he has planned when to

have children, to not give class"

We'll see if this actualy comes

true.

A trip to Paris?
In the previous edition of THE

3RD SCOOP,
we talked about this, but we

have new information

regarding this topic.

Students have recently been

informed about the

skyrocketing price ...being a

total of 849€.
But that's not what surprised

most of them, it was the fact

that they needed to pay an

aditional fee to visit the city.

PAGE 04 Mireia's Inteview
1.Please introduce yourself and tell us interesting facts about you

Hii! My name is Mireia Catalan, and I am excited to introduce myself as

a teacher of classical languages, specifically Greek and Latin and Spanish,
as well as classical culture in 4th ESO at Santísima Trinidad School.

2. Where were you born?

I was born many years ago in a little town called Albuixech, located just
10 kilometers away from the crowded metropolis of Valencia. Growing
up, the town was my playground, a place where I spent most of my days
exploring the streets. The town was small, but it was full of life and
energy, and it promoted in me a deep appreciation for the simple things
in life.
3. How was your childhood/upbringing?

My childhood was a wonderful and joyful time, filled with memories

that I will always love. I was fortunate enough to spend it entirely in my
hometown, surrounded by the love and support of my family and
friends.
4. Tell us about your family

I am incredibly fortunate to have such

a loving and supportive family. My
dear mother, father, and older sister
have always been there for me,
through the good times and the bad
ones.

5,How is your relationship with your

family?

I’m really thankful for having a good

relationship with all my family
members.
PAGE 05 6,Do you keep in touch with old friends?

Yes of course, I have a diverse group of

friends that have come into my life
through different stages. I've known
some of my friends since primary school.
We've been through so many
experiences together and have shared so
many memories. On the other hand, I
also have friends that I've met during my
university years, and it's been great to
have them in my life. Lastly, I've also
made friends from work, and it's been
great to have them in my life too.
7, What was your dream profession when you were young?

As a child, the idea of being a teacher always captivated me. It was my

dream profession, something I had always imagined myself doing.
However, it wasn't an easy journey. I had to go to "Bachillerato",
university and then a master's degree, and once I had done all that, it was
all a matter of being lucky to find a job.
8,Did it require a bachiller?

Yes, it did. It was the first step to enter the career.

PAGE 06 "I already have enough to do
teaching Spanish to students"
"Confesses Mireia"
9. How was your experience during those years?

I am incredibly grateful to be standing in front of my “bachillerato”

students, sharing my knowledge and guiding them through their
academic journey. The opportunity to get to know each and every one of
you, has been a truly lovely experience. I find great joy in teaching my
subject.
10. What inspired you to become a teacher?

Becoming a teacher was the best job I could have ever chosen in my life.
Because we can earn a lot of money. However, we have to work a lot of
hours at school.
11. What is your teaching philosophy? How do you strive to engage and
inspire your students?
My teaching philosophy is based on having a good relationship with
students and finding different ways to do homework and classwork
(such as games).
I also try to show them positive
aspects of the subject and
sometimes I put movies so
they can relate to the subject in
an interesting way. In 4th of
"ESO", we watched Troya,
Odisea… all classical movies to
help students understand the
culture.
PAGE 07 12. How do you adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of different
learners in your class?

I share-out a lot of sheets to help them and I try to make lessons as easy
and understandable as possible, but the decision to learn and do it or not
is theirs, not mine. I can’t do much else.

13. Can you share an example of a time when you had to overcome a
challenge in the classroom? How did you handle it?

I haven't been through any particular experience that has been really
challenging for me. I generally try to not argue with my students.
Although, sometimes when they make me really mad, they get me on my
nerves. I usually follow some steps. First I try to speak with my students,
and if I see that doesn’t work, I’ll just give a notification to their parents
(but I don’t usually do it). Most times we work it out and forget
everything.

14,How do you stay current with new teaching methods and

technologies?

I'm not a technological person, but I like to teach with new methods
related to technology, such as chromebooks in “ESO”, because as they
learn, so do I. I also like to prepare some questionnaires for Bachillerato
students to make classes more bearable.

15,What do you enjoy most about teaching?

I just like it, I enjoy teaching, explaining things, and when students listen
to me… basically what the profession is about.

16,Are you in a current romantic relationship?

No, I’m a single lady HAHAHA.

PAGE 08

17. Have you got a personal interest in english? How was your 1st
encounter with the language? How did you feel? Tell us about that
experience.

I remember that when I was a child I hated english. I passed all my

exams. However, I was, and I still am, way more interested in other
languages like French. Even though, when I became a teacher I had to
pass a B2 exam to teach classical culture, and now I’m fine with it.

18. How many languages do you speak?

I speak four languages: Spanish, Valencian, French, English, and I teach

Latin and Greek, but I don’t speak them, even though I understand them.
An interesting fact is that when I was a child I studied German for two
years and I can remember a few things from it.

19. How would you describe your relationship with co-workers?

I think I have a good relationship with all of my co-workers. Nevertheless

I interact more with those in the language department.

20. Have you ever been out of Spain? Have you ever been to an English
speaking country?

Yes, I went to Paris, France, and I'd like to travel to Rome or Greece. I
have never been to an English speaking country, but I haven’t thought
about traveling to one yet.
PAGE 09 21. Do you have any native English speaking friends or relatives?

I have friends and family that can speak English, but unfortunately I
don’t have any native relatives/friends.

22. As a Spanish teacher, which is your favorite novel?

I have to say that I do have a particular interest in classical novels, such as

“Me, Julia” by Santiago Posteguillo and the kind of affairs he writes. Oh
and I also like romantic novels.

23. Which is your favorite musical artist? And your musical genres?

I don’t have a favorite artist but I usually listen to the radio, like "los 40
principales", "Hit FM", or "Cadena Dial". Regarding genres, I listen to a
little bit of everything.

24. What’s your favorite movie? Have you got any interest in any
cinematographic saga?

I have a lot of interests actually, for example I've read the hunger games
books but I haven't seen the films. I have seen the hobbit and avatar, but
they are not my favourites, so I would say Harry Potter is the one I like
the most. On the other hand, my least favourite by far are the squid
games and the horror genre.

25. Have you got any famous crush ;)?

HAHAHAHA. I could name some. When I was younger I used to have a

crush on Leonardo DiCaprio (but his younger and prettier version to be
fair) or Aquiles. However, I'm more interested in William Levy, he’s my
current famous crush from the Turkish soap operas.

PAGE 14 The stars predictions
Aries (21 March-20 April)

You're the BREAD OF CHILDREN,

because you're always up for anything.
Your motto is "Yes to everything" and you
are the coolest. The truth is that if you
don't combine with everything, you make
your way to combine, so that although it
can be difficult to get close to you, in the
end people end up loving you.

Taurus (April 21-May 21)

You are a wardrobe gossip, but a very effective one. No one tells on you,
because you are always very well informed. For that reason if you were a
bread, you'd be the EAR, no doubt. The truth is that it doesn't cost you
anything to have the details of even your neighbours. Those who throw
parties and don't invite you, but you're also very sweet on the inside.

Gemini (May 22-June 21)

Controversial, two-faced and you have no room for half measures. You
are either loved or hated, but everyone talks about you and you love that.
That's why, if it were your turn to be a loaf of bread, you would be a
SHELL for sure. Whether it's empty or consistent and delicious, that
depends on who's eating it, but one thing is undeniable.
Cancer (June 22-July 22)
PAGE 15

If you were a loaf of bread, you'd be the

KISS, because you do have a little heart.
In fact you're one of the cheesiest in the
zodiac. But beware! If you don't
exercise restraint, you could make your
loved ones sick to your stomach.
However, if you are tasty, you are,
because you always have delicious
marmalade for those who appreciate it.
Leo (July 23-August 22)

You would be a FAT BREAD, because you inspire a lot of confidence

and besides, not just anyone can find you. Just like this bread, you always
look and smell great and for that you should feel proud.

Virgo (23 August-23 September)

You would definitely be a BREAD

FILLED DEAD, because you always
save the best for last. You love order
and although you are sweet, it's hard
for you to show it, because many have
already made fun of you, so you prefer
to save the most valuable things for
those who sit down to talk to you in
depth.
PAGE 16 Libra (September 23-October 22)

You're always watching your health and your diet, Libra. If you were a
loaf of bread, you'd be a CUBILET for sure, because you get down so
easily, but you're super sweet and you're always spreading love.

Scorpio (October 23-November Sagittarius (November 22-

21) December 21)

Even the question is foolish, You would definitely be a

Scorpio! Obviously fidelity is not PUERQUITO, because you are
your thing and for that reason, you the best friend and friend in the
would be a CROISSANT. You are a whole zodiac. Everyone likes you
super conqueror and you were born because you're so easy-going. You
to break hearts with the pretence of talk to every little animal that
a foreigner. This autumn will bring comes your way. So be open to
you ham and cheese. the possibilities!
PAGE 17 Capricorn (December 22-January 21)

Oh, Capri! You always seem tough on the outside, but on the inside
you're a soft touch and you could even say lukewarm at times. So, if it
were your turn to be a loaf of bread, you would undoubtedly be a
KEEPER or red paper bread.

Aquarius (January 22-February 21)

You are the coolest, most relaxed,

unique and spiritual of all. You don't
resist change and your heart holds
great sweetness. So if it were your
turn to be a bread, you'd be a
REHILET for sure.

Pisces (February 22-March 20)

Although you seem insensitive, you

know you have a little heart and it is
fragile. Therefore, if it were your turn
to be a bread, of course you would be
a the "Campechana" bread, because
although you like to try everything,
not everyone prefers you and when
you are betrayed, your heart breaks
into a thousand pieces, but you are
delicious and you know it.
