Leadership Ethics

Leadership is the ability of an individual to influence or guide others or the organization.
A
leader is defined as a person who is followed by others. On the other hand, a leader is also
required to motivate security in order to acquire followers. Consequently, they must have focus,
direction, and purpose, and improve them with their words, thoughts, and actions. Leadership is
primarily concerned with a management activity, such as communication, which the leader will
personally control and use to achieve the organization's objectives. Aside from that, the leader
can increase people's self-esteem so that they are satisfied with themselves. It is important to
break down barriers and establish connections, which demonstrates barriers between
departments, organizations, employees, and customers. The difficulty for a leader is to build and
invest in relationships while creating a communication environment for his followers. The
leadership's actions must aid the team in achieving its objectives and meeting its needs. A leader
must have knowledge of human nature and the ability to express people in a way that reduces the
team's uncertainty about the future. Some people believe that leadership is innate and that there is
no way to become a leader through practice or education.
A leader has the special characteristic which all the leaders should have and needed to be
develop. The characteristic is he/she admits his/ her disadvantages, weaknesses, and failures.
This characteristic reveal a leader's willingness to believe in high standards, success, and activity,
which earns him or her praise, respect, and backing from all walks of life. Next, A leader must be
capable of intuiting and taking preventative measures in order to effectively and efficiently
manage difficult situations. One of the best qualities of a leader is intuition, which predicts
everything. It assists the respective leader in informing the public, in advance, of a situation that
may have a negative or positive impact on the people. In other words, a good leader can arouse
feelings both for and against an individual, regime, or power. Some of the additional
characteristics that a leader must develop include the ability to create a database of information
on administrative structure, management, defense, budget, economy, relations, and bureaucracy
and analyze it thoroughly for use. Also, must be capable of managing, controlling, and
motivating/persuading the armed forces or the general public. Instead of asking people to do
something special, a good leader must set an example in front of the public(society). It is an
important quality of a good leader. In public, a good leader should keep his emotions and anger
under control. He should motivate the public through his words and actions without giving the
impression that it will harm the common person.
The quality of a good leader is hard to obtain among the leaders nowadays especially in
Malaysia. A good leader has a model public persona. It is essential for a leader to be trustworthy
to lead others. A leader must be trusted and be known for living their life honestly and with
integrity. A good leader "walks the walk," earning the right to be responsible for others. Respect
for the good character and trustworthiness of the person who leads gives rise to true authority.
Some Malaysian leaders have set a good character but some of them also have set the worst
character ever, which the society hate to make them a leader. Some of them, when the election,
the leaders will start their promises to do something in order to gain people’s vote.For example,
they want to fix the water problem before the election but after the election they make many
excuses to fix the problem and make the problem wont settle down and burdening the society.
All they had do Is to promise everything even though they know they cant do it. And yet, after
they won the selection, the promise is just a promise, in other word the lied to the society. This
will cause people to trust someone else and they will make a conclusion that all the leaders are
the same .
A good leader is committed to the job , as well as their role as leader. People will be more open
to a person who is passionate and dedicated. Leaders must be able to inspire and motivate others
to take action or support a cause. Although a leader's responsibilities and roles may differ, the
leader must be seen as part of the team working towards a common goal. This type of leader will
not be afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. Therefore, there are some leaders
still did not commit to their job. Some still have the small minded mentality where they just want
to gain the benefits for the position of a leader. Such as to get the tender easily for them or their
families to make them gain more money without working so hard. In other word is “using
cables’. Moreover some of them just did not care about society’s problems and this will make
society facing a huge trouble either in economics of the county or else.
A good leader is self-assured. A leader must appear confident as a person and in the leadership
role in order to lead and set direction. Such a person instils confidence in others and elicits the
team's trust and best efforts to complete the task successfully. A leader who exudes confidence in
the proposed goal motivates team members to give their all. If a leader doe does not have any
confidence to do something, this will lead to undevelopment and cause a huge impact on
economy and more.
Therefore, good leaders can tolerate uncertainty while remaining calm, composed, and focused
on the main goal. Storms, emotions, and crises pass, and a good leader accepts them as part of
the journey and maintains a level head. For example, during our PKP Covid-19 Malaysian ex
leader facing the problem calmly even though there is a huge problem he had to face. During the
first PKP he announced the society panicked and worried on how to make money during that
time where they cannot go out without anu essential at all and some of people had no money to
buy a food for their families and lead to family problem such as abuse, mental problem and
more. The government failed to help people in need at that time which caused the rise of suicide
cases.
Lastly, a good leader can think analytically while keeping the main goal in mind. A good leader
not only sees a situation as a whole, but can also break it down into subparts for closer
examination. A good leader can break down a goal into manageable steps and make progress
toward it while keeping the goal in mind, which not all the leaders can do so.
Overall, being a leader entails being an effective communicator, trustworthy, and ambitious. The
leader must be able to connect with his followers on some level. His followers must be able to
rely on him. Finally, he must be internally motivated to want to lead the group of people.
