ACTIVITY DESIGN
I. TITLE OF ACTIVITY: Presentation of Learning Recovery and Continuity
Plan for SY 2022-2023
II. RATIONALE:

The COVID-19 pandemic is definitely a health issue. The severe short-term disruption has
been felt by all families and has greatly affected the education system not just in our country but in
the whole world. The crisis crystallizes the dilemma of the Department of Education whether to
forego the full blast opening of classes as provided by law and face a great challenge.

The Department of Education (DepEd)-continues to support all government efforts


towards healing the nation by remaining committed to the goal of delivering accessible, quality,
liberating, and safe basic education services amid these critical times.

 The Division of Davao Oriental commits to strengthen the mandate to support and
capacitate schools in ensuring a conducive learning environment and in complying to quality
standards prescribed in this new normal period. It will carry out its programs, projects and
activities fully aware that there is much work to be done in the continuity of learning amid this
crisis.

In a closer look,the school where learning takes place, various initiatives done by the
school during the pandemic to address the challenges however, there is still a need to assess
the landscape of the school to provide responsive mechanisms to support teachers in their
instructional recovery. By undertaking recovery and readiness in different areas of concern,
teachers will be more equipped to make learning more meaningful in spite of some adversities or
challenges. These support mechanisms will lead school to identify appropriate interventions and
concrete action steps based on their current level of recovery and readiness. Furthermore, this
will assist the school in creatively navigating the transition of learning modalities of learners.

DepEd Order No. 12, s. 2015, re: “Guidelines on the Early Language, Literacy, and
Numeracy Program: Professional Development Component” strengthens the reading program
through the implementation of the Early Language, Literacy, and Numeracy Program. The
program will develop Filipino children literacy and numeracy skills and attitudes which will
contribute to lifelong learning. More specifically, it aims to improve reading and numeracy skills
of Kinder to Grade 3 pupils, following K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum, and to establish a
sustainable and cost-effective professional development system for teachers.

DepEd Memorandum No. 173, s. 2019, re: “Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3Bs
Initiative)” strengthens the reading proficiency of every learner and to nurture a culture of reading
which is a requisite skill in all content areas. Hence, all levels of governance are encouraged to
strongly respond to the challenge on making every child a reader.

Therefore, the school Learning Continuity Plan should be understood by the teachers and
all school stakeholders to address the educational needs of all learners employing various
innovative strategies.

In response to this, the Pagsilaan Elementary School will conduct a LAC session entitled
“Presentation of Learning Recovery and Continuity Plan” to all Pagsilaan Elementary School
teachers on September 22, 2022 at Pagsilaan Elementary School, Holy Cross, Manay, Davao
Oriental.

III. OBJECTIVES

1. Identify the objectives of the school learning continuity plan for SY 2022-2023.
2. Present the key performance indicators of the school as basis for the LRCP
3. Identify the different activities needed to be undertaken during the different
phases of its implementation.
4. Identify the implementation cycle processes.
