 Knowledge Demonstrate understanding on the alphabets in English in comparison to
the alphabets of Filipino and Mother Tongue;
 Skills Identify the letters of the English and Filipino alphabets correctly; and
 Attitude Appreciate the importance of learning English and Filipino alphabets.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Review/Introductory  Review on the previous lesson about classifying sound of animals.
Activity  Present the following activity using charts or SMART TV. Do this orally.

Match the animals in column A with the correct sounds in column B.

 Process learners’ answers.

B. Activity/ Motivation  Let the class recall the alphabet song.


 Ask them to sing the alphabet song while presenting the following.

Ask:
1. Were you able to sing the song correctly?
2. What helped you in singing the song?

C. Analysis/Presenting  Using the pictures of animals found in the Review/Introductory Activity, let the
examples of the new learners identify the beginning letter of each word/name.

 Do this to rest of the numbers. Write the answers of the learners on the board.

Ask:
1. What is the Filipino name of this fruit?
2. What letter does the word bayabas start?

D. Abstraction  Discuss What is It found in Module 5.

Going back to the Alphabet Song, how many letters are there in the English Alphabet?

There are 26 letters in the English Alphabet. It is composed of 5 vowels


and 21 consonants.

The Filipino Alphabet has 28 letters.

What letters in the Filipino Alphabet are not present in the English Alphabet? How
many letters are they? Study the underlined letters in the Filipino Alphabet?

There are 2 letters in the Filipino alphabet, Ñ and NG, that are not found
in the English alphabet.

What is the importance of learning English and Filipino Alphabets?

Learning English and Filipino alphabets is important because letter patterns


represent sounds that will help us read and pronounce the letters and words correctly.

1. How many letters are there in the English Alphabet? the Filipino alphabet?
2. What letters in the Filipino Alphabet are not present in the English
Alphabet? How many letters are they?

 Remind the learners that learning English and Filipino alphabets is important
because letter patterns represent sounds that will help us read and pronounce the
letters and words correctly.
