Information
Description General The focus of the learning activities is watching videos and quizzes about

related to celebrations, writing compositions about special celebrations
that are most favored or most memorable for students, discussing in groups
about the most popular or most unique special celebrations in their
country.
Initial Competence Through this activity-based teaching material, students are able to
understand how to good speaking in English.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the course, students will be able to:
1. To give students practice of language items (Vocabulary, Grammar
functions etc.)
2. To develop students ability to speak fluently and interactively
3. Students will be able to differentiate between different accents and
intonation variations in English.
4. Students can apply communication skills in various aspects of life..
• Avoiding repetition.
• Introduce a topic and prepare relevant vocabulary.
• Give students time to prepare.
• Divide students into groups or pairs.
• Have one student speak for four minutes without interruption,
the others listen.
• Give them time to rest.
• Students change partners or groups and give the same speech
in three minutes.

SPEAKING
To complement learning English which is currently more inclined to the text approach,
knowledge of expressions or conversations with certain topics is absolutely necessary. For
example, when we study examples of recount text, of course it will be more complete if we
also know the vocabulary, phrases, and expressions about introducing self and introducing
others. Likewise, when we are reading examples of analytical exposition, of course we will
understand more easily when we also learn about how to speak English with the topic;
expressing satisfactory, asking and giving opinion, asking and giving advice. Do not miss
when studying examples of explanation text, it will be more solid if we also know how to
express certainty and uncertainty.
