Simulation – (Simbucket Double Slit Interference)

Simulator: www.simbucket.com -> Lens and Mirror lab

Initial setup:
● Select mirror option
● Start object at 3f (3 x the focal length)
Questions:
1. Investigate the relationship between object distance and image magnification.
Write a concluding statement. The further away the initial object is from the bo in the
mirror the smaller the reflected image under the line of sight will become.

2. Investigate the relationship between focus distance and curvature of mirror.

Write a concluding statement. The closer the image is to the curvature of the mirror
will relapse into a wider range of sight for the reflected image.

3. Investigate the relationship between focus distance and object distance.

Write a concluding statement. The greater the focus distance in reference to the
object distance will result in a scaled image larger than the actual image.

4. Explain what happens to image when the object is placed between the focal point and
mirror. Once place in between the focal point and mirror the image will not only flip to
reveal the trajectory of reflection, but will flip and display on the opposite above half of
the mirror.

5. What are the differences between a converging lens and a diverging lens? Converging
lenses will bo out towards an object being reflected while diverging lenses will bo
together away from objects being reflected.

6. What are the differences between a convex mirror and a concave mirror? Convex
mirrors will give the same effect as converging lenses and concave mirrors will give that
of the same as diverging lenses.
