DAILY LESSON LOG Teacher: ARSELISA B. BALDOVINO Learning Area: SCIENCE
Teaching Dates and 2ND
Time: NOVEMBER 28, 2022 (WEEK 5) Quarter: QUARTER
MONDAY
I. OBJECTIVES
The learner demonstrates understanding of how the major organs of the human
A. Content Standards body work together to form organ systems
The learners should be able to make a chart showing healthful habits that promote
B. Performance Standards proper functioning of the musculo-skeletal, integumentary, digestive, circulatory
excretory, respiratory and nervous systems.
C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives Explain how the organs of each organ system work together (S6LT-IIc-d-1)
Write the LC code for each
Describes a person’s reaction in a given situation.
II. CONTENT How Do Parts of the Nervous System Works?
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide pages
2. Learner’s Materials pages
3. Textbook pages Cyber Science by Myrna Q. Adduru, pp. 91-106
4. Additional Materials from
Learning Resource (LR) portal
B. Other Learning Resources Charts, Video Presentation
IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or
presenting the new lesson Show a sharp object and ask, “If you are suddenly hurt with this sharp object, what
is your reaction?”
B. Establishing a purpose for the Show a picture of a mother calling for her daughter. Ask, “What is the stimulus in
lesson this picture?” What is the response?”.
C. Presenting examples/instances of
the new lesson Can you recall what you have done yesterday? How about your activities the other
day or a month ago? Name some of these activities. Write them and brainstorm.
D. Discussing new concepts (Video Presentation)
-The central nervous system receives information from the sensory nerves and
responds to the information by sending messages through the motor nerves to
various parts of the body.
- The central nervous system receives and interprets information and directs the
body what to do.
-The central nervous system consists of the brain and the spinal cord. The brain
controls everything you do. It enables you to speak, to remember, to memorize and
to move your bones and muscles in coordinated ways. It controls the beating and
the emotions of your heart and allows you to perform so many things even while you
are asleep.
E. Continuation of the discussion of ACTIVITY
new concepts (leads to Formative Activity: Measuring Your Reaction Time
Assessment 2) Let’s find out: How long does it take the brain to send message to your arm
muscles?
Let’s use these materials:
Chair, meterstick
Let’s do it this way:
1 Get a partner to work with you.
2 Sit on chair with one arm in a “handshake” position.
3 Let your partner stand facing you holding the meter stick vertically, with 0 at the
bottom.
4 Your partner will drop the meterstick. You have to catch the meter stick between
your thumb and fingers.
5 Look at the centimeter on the meter stick where you have grasped or held it. This
is the distance representing your reaction time. Record it.
6 Repeat steps 1-5 three times. Record your data. Calculate the average distance.
7 Repeat steps 1-6 using your other hand.
8 Exchange places with your partner and do the same procedure.

L. Developing mastery (leads to ANALYSIS

Formative Assessment 3) Answer the questions;
1 Compare the result of your reaction time with your partner.
2 What does your reaction time indicate?

M. Finding practical applications of

concepts and skills in daily What happens when the central nervous system does not function well?
living
N. Making generalizations and ABSTRACTION
abstractions about the lesson The central nervous system receives information from the sensory nerves and

O. Evaluating learning APPLICATION:
Let’s share our knowledge:
How does a message reach the brain and how does the brain react to it?
P. Additional activities for application or
remediation

V. REMARKS

VI. REFLECTION
A. No. of learners who earned
80% in the evaluation
B. No. of learners who require
additional activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No.
of learners who have caught up with
the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did this work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter
which my principal or supervisor can
help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover which I
wish to share with other teachers?
