ABSTRACT
The purpose of vehicle management system is to automate the existing manual system by the
help of computerized equipments and full-fledged computer software, fulfilling their
requirements, so that their valuable data/information can be stored for a longer period with
easy accessing and manipulation of the same, the required software and hardware are easily
available and easy to work with.
Vehicle management system, as described above, can lead to error free, secure, reliable and
fast management system. It can assist the user to concentrate on the record keeping. Thus it
will help organization in better utilization of resources. The organization can maintain
computerized records without redundant entries. That means that one need not be distracted
by information that is not relevant, while being able to reach the information.
The aim is to automate its existing manual system by the help of computerized equipments
and full/-fledged computer software, fulfilling their requirements, so that their valuable
data/information can be stored for a longer period with east accessing and manipulation of the
same. Basically the project describes how to manage for good performance and better
services for the clients.
CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Vehicle Management System in PHP is a simple mini project for managing the vehicles,
buses & cars of RUET. In RUET there are many vehicles that can be hired for money. The
project contains the admin side and the user side. The admin can control all the vehicle
request and check if the request can be granted or not. They can update the driver and vehicle
list, add new drivers, add new vehicles, etc. An admin can control the whole booking process
from the admin panel like which car to give to a certain user and which driver to drive etc. As
a whole, the admin has all the power to control the whole management process.
For the user side, a user can register & login their account to book a vehicle. He/she needs to
login to book for a vehicle & there is an online application form. They can easily see all their
transactions and the history of their travelling. They can see the bill in their account. These
are all personalized. This project is a simple project that makes a convenient way for any
traveller to make bookings
1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENT
To design & develop web based Vehicle Management System to automate booking of vehicle
by travel agent.
1.3 OBJECTIVES
 To register & login their account to book a vehicle.

 To book for a vehicle.
 To fill details in the application form
 To view transactions and the history of their travelling.
 To keep track of fuel usage and other running costs per vehicle.
 To view bill
CHAPTER 2
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
2.1 HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
 Processor: Intel(R) core(TM) I3-1024U CPU @1.60GHz 2.11GHz
 RAM: 4gb or more
 Hard disk: 2TB
2.2 SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
 OS: Windows 10
 software's used: - Note pad
- Pup madman
- XAMP (A web server by apache)
- Google Browser (Latest version)

2.3 F UNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
 Login: - The user has to register & login their account to book a vehicle if the user
created before no need to create another and can continue with login page.
 Booking: - The booking for vehicle has to select slot in booking section add details of
customer.
 Application:- Customer has to fill all the details for booking a vehicle in application
like name, address, phone no, pick up point, vehicle type, return date & reason for
booking.
 Admin: - The admin has to login and can check the details of customers and bookings
along with transactions and history of delivery of vehicle.
 Data of vehicle: - Checking of vehicle problem and fuel usage, keep tracking, and
running costs per vehicle.
 Billing: - Admin as to confirm of booking for vehicle and transactions. The billing
confirmation of payment as to be done. And can view billings.
2.4 NON-FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
 PERFORMANCE:-
The system must be interactive and the delays involved must be less.
 Safety:- information transmission should be securely mitted to server without

any changes in information
 Reliability: - as the system provide the right tools for discussion, problem
solving it must be made sure that system is reliable in its operations and for
securing the sensitive details.
 Availability: - if the internet service gets disrupted while sending information
to the server, the information can be sending again for verification.
 Security: - The main security concern is for users account hence proper login
mechanism should the security. Hence, security is provided from unwanted
use of recognition software.
 Usability: - As the system is easy to handle and navigates in the most
expected way with no delays. In the case the system program reacts
accordingly and transverses quickly between its states.

CHAPTER 4
IMPLEMENTATION
4.1 overview of modules
The main objective of the project on vehicle management system is to manage the details of
vehicle, Driver insurance maintenance fuel. It manages all the information about vehicle type,
fuel, and vehicle. The project is totally built at administrative end and thus only the
admistrator is guaranted the access. The purpose of the project is to build an application
program to reduce the manual work managing the vehicle, driver, vehicle, vehicle type
insurance it tracks all the details about the insurance, Maintenance, fuel.
The proposed system has following modules;-
The aim of proposed system is to develop a system of improved facilities the proposed
system can overcome all the limitations of the existing system the system provides proper
security and reduces the manual work.
 Security of data
 Ensure data accuracy's.
 Proper control of the higher officials.
 Minimize manual data entry.
 Minimum time needed for the various processing.
 Greater efficiency.
 Better service.
 User friendliness and interactive.

CONCLUSION
Vehicle management system is implemented which is used for booking vehicle from a
chosen source to destination along with the route map and the bill is calculated for the
confirmed bookings..
