Presentation of the Lesson Objectives

In the previous lesson, we learned about reacting to what is asserted in a text. In this activity, we will
continue to react to a text by crafting sensible, challenging and thought-provoking questions.

Directions:Read the poem distributed in the handout and showed on the screen. Write 2 questions
about the poem in a ¼ sheet of paper. The students will be given 2 to 3 minutes to formulate questions
then their papers will be passed forward. The teacher will pick 4 to 5 papers to read and ask students
whether the questions are sensible, challenging or thought-provoking.

discussion whre you need to raise sensible ideas, craft challenging and thought provoking questions
and master the topics that will be assigned to you.

What is a Panel Discussion?

A panel discussion involves sharing of different viewpoints of a group on a specific topic.

Using availale resources and the topic they picked, each group shall react and discuss the topic
assigned to them through a panel discussion. Each group shall present it in front of the class.

They will be graded according to the rubric below. Each group shall grade the presenting group as well
with the teacher and their grades shall be computed by the presenting group. They will be given by the
teacher a rating sheet.
