Write an answer to one of the questions below. Write your answer in 220 – 260 words in
an appropriate style. Put the question number at the top of your answer.

1 You see the following announcement on a website, Movie News.

Film reviews wanted


Have you ever read a book that you really loved and then seen a film version of it?
Write a review of the film, telling us about how you felt, seeing a movie version of a much-loved
story. Did the film live up to your expectations or did it disappoint you? Why?
In what ways were the book and the film similar or different?
The best reviews will be posted on our website.

2 Your university arranged for you to do a month’s unpaid work experience as part of your course.
You have just completed the work experience, and you have been asked to write a report for your
university department. You should include information on what you gained from doing the work
experience and how well you were supported by the permanent staff at the company. What
improvements could be made for other students doing work experience in the future?

3 You work at your local tourist information office. The town council wants to attract more tourists to
your area and plans to build either a new arts centre or new sports centre.
The centre should be attractive to both local residents and tourists, and be used by people of all
ages. You have been asked to write a proposal to the town council saying which of the two
centres would be better and explaining why. You should describe what your preferred centre
should be like.
