School: BUSCO CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Grade Level: SIX
Teacher: JUDITH C. SANCHEZ Learning Area: MATHEMATICS
Teaching Dates and Time: MARCH 28, 2023 Quarter: THIRD

I. Objectives
Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of solid figures.
Performance The learner is able to construct and describe the different solid figures: cube, prism, pyramid,
Standard cylinder, cone, and sphere
The learner identifies the nets of the following space figures: cube, prism, pyramid, cylinder,
and cone using plane figures.
Most Essential M6GE-IIIc-32
Learning
Competencies Annotation:
The goal of the teacher is the learners will be able to identify the nets of different solid
figures. So, the philosophy in teaching used is humanism.

the new lesson Sing a song “3d shapes”

Drill: BRING ME!

Strategy: Game The first pupil who will bring the thing that can be found inside their bag or in the classroom
that represents the solid figure that the teacher will say, will get 1 star. Those who will earn
more stars will be the winner.
Ex. Bring me a thing that represents a rectangular prism.

Review: Guessing Game!

1. I am a solid figure having 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertices. Who am I? (cube)
2. I am a solid figure with a polygonal base whose edges meet at a common vertex. Who am
I?
(pyramid)
3. I am a solid figure having a circular base and one vertex. Who am I? (cone)
4. I am a solid figure with 2 parallel congruent faces called bases and the other faces are
parallelograms. Who am I? (rectangular prism)
5. I am a solid figure with 2 circular bases, no edge, and no vertex. Who am I? (cylinder)

Strategy: Wh’s Who among of you, is taking vitamins? Is it important to take it? Why? Taking vitamins is
& H Art of important because it helps our body to restore the energy or others take it as a food
Questioning supplement. How many time are we going to take the vitamins? People have different
preferences for vitamins. There are vitamins for adult and also for kids. One example for kids
is Cherifer. All Cherifer are available in a similar box. What kind of solid figure is it? Have you
tried unfolding vitamins box?
b. Establishing a
purpose for the
In this part of the lesson, this can be integrated to Health in MAPEH, since it talks about the
lesson
importance of vitamins in our body.

c. Presenting
Show a video of “3d Shape Nets for Kids”
examples/ instances
of the new lesson
d. Discussing new Group Work
concept The class will be divided into 5 groups through counting off.
Each group will make a net for the following figures given. They are given 10 minutes to do it.
Group 1: Cube
Group 2: Rectangular Prism
Group 3: Square Pyramid
Group 4: Cylinder
Group 5: Cone

Strategy:
Reporting
cube rectangular prism square pyramid cylinder cone

Annotation:
The learners will be able to cooperate with their groupmates, and their cooperation will
be developed. So, the philosophy in teaching used is constructivism.

e. Continuation of the Each group will have a representative to show to the class their work and explain how did

concept
f. Developing Mastery For each 3d shape, put a check ( ) on the correct net.

g. Finding practical Pair-share:

application of Draw a line to match these 3d shapes with the nets below.
concepts and skills in
daily living
MATCH ME GAME
The class will be divided into 3 groups. Each group is given pieces of paper with a picture of a
solid figures and nets on it. They are going to match the solid figure with its net. The group
who did it right first will be the winner.

In this activity, AP has been integrated since the fourth picture is an Egypt Pyramid, it’s a
History.

h. Making What is a net?
