Dear Principal or Human Resources Manager,
1 am writing this letter of reference for Miss Samantha Eselby. Miss Eselby served as a student
teacher in seventh grade science at Park Forest Middle School from January to April, 2023. During
the fall 2022 semester, prior to student teaching, Miss Eselby observed and assisted in my PFMS
science class as part of Pennsylvania State University science education classes.
Samantha had a great opportunity to observe and participate in the middle school. She worked with
students with various needs, abilities, and situations. Samantha also had the opportunity to observe
students in other science classes and in non-science settings. The extended time in our school
allowed Miss Eselby to observe and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as well as,
professional learning community meetings.
Miss Eselby worked collaboratively with another pre-service teacher, another cooperating teacher,
and me to develop and implement an ecology unit with lessons utilizing a variety of strategies.
Participating in prior units focused on elasticity, hurricanes, and ecology helped Samantha's
students to understand the importance of energy conservation, conversion, and transfer through
different systems. 1 was very pleased to see Miss Eselby develop her comfort and proficiency
during the student teaching experience.
Smantha is professional and respectful in her dealings with co-workers. She is kind and is always
available and approachable to help students when they ask for assistance. Samantha will be a
valuable colleague and teacher as she launches into her teaching career.
Ifyou have any further questions about Samantha's qualifications, please do not hesitate to contact
me,
Sincerely,
Ses we >
