1. What other local and recyclable materials are used in creating artworks?
There are many things that you can use in creating an artwork. Materials
such as coffee bean, rice husks, sand, glass, shells, straws, sticks, etc. anything can be
used as an artwork material you just need to widen your imagination and be
creative.

2. What are Sanikulas Cookies? Why these cookies are different from other cookies?
Sanikulas cookies are cookies that have the image of St. Nicholas molded on
it. It is an arrowroot cookie that is believed to help heal someone sick by praying to
Mary and eating the cookie. According to legend St. Nicholas fell ill, he dreamed of
Virgin Mary telling him to eat a small piece of bread dipped in water. He followed
what he saw in his dream and fortunately St. Nicholas got better and since then he
started healing the sick with the Sanikulas Cookie.

3. How is pabalat made?


Pabalat are made of japanese paper. Before anything, first they must already
have a design for the pabalat. They will trace the design on the paper and after that
they will start to cut it according to the design. Cutting may take minutes to hours
depending on your skill or the design.

4. Where can we find women who delicately embroidered floral designs?


Embroidery is alive and flourishing in Taal, Lumban, Laguna. It is mostly done
by the wives of fishermen and farmers.

5. How is singkaban created?


Singkaban are created by shaving, shaping, according to design bamboo
sticks. It is made into artful creations that is used for decor for arches during fiestas
or any other important activities.

6. What are the uses of Puni or Palm Leaf?


There are many uses to a puni, their designs can be categorized according to
their uses.

7. How would young generation learn to appreciate the kind of artworks mentioned
in this lesson?
Younger generations might have a hard time appreciating these kinds of
artworks in this lesson since most of it are traditional. But I think by often seeing it
being used or introducing it now more on the market, the younger generations will
learn on how to appreciate these kinds of artworks.
