Vehicle maintenance bay


-  It is a dedicated maintenance area for the firefighting apparatus and includes a
heavy-duty lift and all utility connections required for large vehicle maintenance.

2. Apparatus bay support


- These industrial spaces are where the vehicles and other firefighting equipment
are cleaned, maintained, and stored.

3. Agent Storage
- Agent storage is typically provided in a single-story structure separate from the
fire station building. It should be located along the drive leading into the
Apparatus Bay for ease of loading and unloading of firefighting agents.

4. Firefighter’s Dorm
- It has to do with where firefighters sleep and the layout of the station. Most of
the stations that were built in the past have a group dorm set-up, very similar to a
military barracks. Usually, a large room with a bunch of beds.

5. Officer’s Dorm
-a private room where the officers rest and sleep.

6. Fitness room
- a space specifically designated for exercise, fitness training, and physical
wellness activities.

7. Department training room


-a place where the firefighters trained their skills with the officers

8. Station officer office/ watch desk


-a room where the station commander is in charge of a fire station or an
emergency appliance.

9. Lobby
- a corridor or hall connected with a larger room or series of rooms and used as a
passageway or waiting room

10. Laundry room


- is a room where the firefighters’ clothes are washed and dried
11. Bathroom/ shower/ changing
-  a place in which a firefighter’s bathes and even change their normal clothes

12. Training officer office


-basically, a place or room where the training office stay

13. Administration
- support and strengthen fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and
stakeholders to prepare for, prevent, mitigate and respond to all hazards

14. Emergency operation center


- a comprehensive approach to sharing resources, coordinating and managing
incidents, and communicating information.

15. Reception area


- a large open area inside and near the entrance of the station

16. Gym
- A well-equipped fire station gym can help your firefighters stay in shape and
improve their ability to respond to emergencies. 

17. Control Center


-is a room/area where fire alarm control unit found which serves as the brain of the
fire alarm system by monitoring all the inputs and controlling all the outputs. 

18. Kitchen
- a room or area used for cooking and food preparation in the station

19. Helipad
- a landing and takeoff area for helicopters.

20. Dining room


-area which meals are eaten

21. Chief’s office


-a place where the Chief holds oversight for the entire Fire Department with the
help of Assistant to the Fire Chief
22. Fireman’s pole
- A fireman's pole (also called a firefighter's pole, sliding pole or fire pole) is
a pole that firefighters slide down to quickly reach the ground floor of a fire
station. This allows them to respond to an emergency call faster, as they arrive at
the fire engine faster than by using a standard staircase.

23. Water tank


- A water tank is a container for storing water. Water tanks are used to provide
storage of water for use in many applications, drinking water, irrigation
agriculture, fire suppression, agricultural farming, both for plants and livestock,
chemical manufacturing, food preparation as well as many other uses.

24. Documentation center


-  The main purpose of the documentation center is to identify, acquire, organize
and store documents after indexing and abstracting them. It retrieves and
disseminates the document when requested by the users.

26. Meeting room


-a room where the fireman and officers have the intention to collaborate, discuss
or brainstorm together. There might be some basic technology available in a
meeting room, but the space is mainly there to facilitate interpersonal work.

27. Turnouts area


-an area where turnouts gear can be contaminated

28. Uniforms area


-it is the area where the gears and uniforms of the firefighters placed

29. Locker room


-they are designated only for storage. It provides privacy and equity for all.
