Title

High order plate element test with uniformly distributed load composed of the elastic
perfectly plastic von Mises material model (Clamped BC)

Description

In this test, the elasto-plastic behavior of a clamped square plate is considered. The high
order plate element (8-noded plate) is selected for the finite element mesh model (see
Fig.C4.1-b). The model is subjected to a uniform distributed load up to the yielding point
(see Fig.C4.1-a). The plate is assumed to be composed of the von Mises elastic perfectly
plastic material model (no hardening). To increase the accuracy of the analysis the
Simpson integration scheme is adopted with 7 integration points (see Fig.C4.1-c).
The analysis results are verified with the reference values of NAFEMS-TEST NL7B.
