Two dc together (dc2tog):


Begin to work dc in next st, but don’t complete it, leaving 2
loops on hook, work another incomplete dc in next st, so
that you have 3 loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull
through all 3 loops on the hook. Stitch completed.

Repeat Last Rnd – two[four,four,six,seven] more times or Row 3: ch2 (counts as first st), skip next dc, *(sc,dc) in back
until desired length, keeping in mind that you still have to loop of next sc, skip next dc*, repeat from * to last st, dc in
work the edging. Don’t fasten off, but turn and working on last st, turn (116[140,168,192,204]sts)

Now you have to decide how many buttons you would like
to use and where to place them. On the right front (you can
choose to make button holes on the left front as well) mark

With right side facing join to right front edge


Row 1: work evenly 116[140,168,192,204]sc (or any other
even number of stitches) across the right edge, hoodie, and
left edge, turn Row 1: ch1, skip 1 inch space, 10dc into next st, skip 1 inch
space, sl st into next st, turn
Row 2: ch2 (counts as first st), skip next st, *(sc,dc) in next
st, skip next st*, repeat from * to last st, dc in last st, turn Row 2: ch1, sc in each dc (10sc), sl st in base of ch1 of
(116[140,168,192,204]sts) previous row, turn

Work second ear symmetrically on other side of the hoodie,
only this time work from top toward the bottom, see next
photo.

Row 3: ch1, *sc in next sc, 2sc in next sc*, repeat from * to
end (15sc), sl st in base of last st of first row, turn
Row 4: ch1, sc in each next sc (15sc), sl st in base of last st of
first row, fasten off.
For baby sizes you can also skip Row 4 if you prefer smaller Repeat Rows 1 through 4. Fasten off. Weave in all ends.
