4.3 Explain This activity is an indication on how much you know about this worldwide issue- the
(15 minutes) climate change. For those who have answered many questions, you are very much
aware of the events that are happening in the environment.
Each of us interacts with our environment that why we are affected by changes in your
environment. We should not disregard all the things that are happening in the
surroundings.
4.4 Elaborate Teacher: So that you will be aware on what’s going on with our mother earth, let us
watch this video. It will also be easier for you to determine the definition of climate
(10 minutes) change and global warming.
Climate change is a long term change in the statistical distribution of weather paterns
over periods raning from decards to millions of years.
One example is the melting of glaciers that has led to a rising global sea level.

4. 1 Engage Many experts say that human activity is the reason why climate change happens. Why
is this so? What crime did humanity commit? Are you part of this crime? Whom are we
(10 minutes) blame for the outcome? So let us now find out if you are part of this big conspiracy by
doing this activity entitled “Am I a Climate Hero or a Climate Culprit?” on page 202-203
in your Learner’s Module.
4.3 Explain The group presents their bar graph on the board.
(15 minutes) Each member will choose the top three highest sources of carbon emission.
From that, each of them will create a strategic plan to reduce his/her contribution
to climate change.
Each group will be asked to answer these questions below:
1. Carbon footprint – a measure of the amount of carbon dioxide and other carbon
compounds emitted due to the consumption of fossil fuels by a particular person,
group, etc.
2. Carbon emission – carbon dioxide emitted when fossil fuels are burned in vehicles,
buildings, industrial processes and so on.
