Kerala Hills & Backwaters

Day 1 - Arrive in Kochi | Drive from Cochin to Munnar (135 km/approx. 4.5 hours)
Arrive in Kochi and travel to Munnar.  On arrival check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Munnar

Day 2 - Sightseeing in Munnar


Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed for sightseeing in and around Munnar ,visiting  Mattupetty Dam, Old
Munnar Town and the town market, the Eravikulam National Park and Tea Museum.  Overnight stay
at the hotel.

Day 3 - Drive from Munnar to Thekkady (130 km/approx. 4 hours)


Breakfast at the hotel and then leave for Thekkady (Periyar). Upon the arrival, check-in at the hotel.  Boat
Ride at Periyar Lake. Explore the famous site of Spice Plantations (Charges applicable). Overnight
stay at the Hotel.

Day 4 - Drive from Thekkady to Alleppey (160 km/approx. 4 hours)


Breakfast at the hotel and leave for  Alleppey . Upon the arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at
Alleppey . 

Day 5 - Depart  Alleppey for  Cochin (95 kms/2.5 hrs)


breakfast and then checkout from the hotel. Day cruise at house boat to explore backwaters and narrow
canals  and the serene beauty of Alleppey.  Later proceed to Kochi Airport to board the flight for the
onward journey.

Munnar: With the seemingly unending expanse of tea estates that cover the rolling hills and
valleys wreathed in a cool mist, Munnar is a favored vacation spot in South India. Located at an
altitude of almost 6000 ft. in Idukki district of Kerala . This enchanting town offers visitors a relief
from the summer heat and provides breathtaking sceneries and a slice of adventure. Home to
exotic flora and fauna,  nestled among the mountains of the Western Ghats .This hill station
offers a sanctuary to many endangered species of animals, at Eravikulam National Park and
Kurinjimala Sanctuary. Witness the majesty of Anamudi Peak, the highest peak in South India,
which can be seen from Munnar. The rare and beautiful ‘Neelakurinji’ flower blossoms on the
slopes of the hills in Munnar, once every twelve years. Munnar also has several pristine lakes
and reservoirs surrounded by tall mountains.

Thekkady: Located on the Western Ghats, Thekkady is famous for its natural reserves and
spice plantations.The region is an abode to varied animal species, including tiger, elephants,
spotted deer, langur, sambar and wild boar. A tour of Kerala is incomplete without visiting this
place that offers ample opportunities for leisure activities like a boat ride on the Periyar Lake,
excursion to Periyar National Park and visit to spice plantations.

Alleppey: the Venice of the East also referred to as Alappuzha, is among the oldest planned towns in the
region. Famous for houseboat cruises, boat races, clear beaches and marine products, this place is a
world-famous backwater holiday destination. Some of the most popular tourist attractions of this serene
land are the Alappuzha Beach, Mullakkal Temple, CSI Christ Church, old lighthouse, Punnamada Lake.
