Introductory Message
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from
Schools Division Office of Pasig City headed by its Officer-In-Charge Schools Division
Superintendent, Ma. Evalou Concepcion A. Agustin in partnership with the Local
Government of Pasig through its Mayor, Honorable Vico Sotto.
The writers utilized the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum using the Most
Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) while overcoming their personal, social,
and economic constraints in schooling.
This learning material hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Further, this also aims to help learners
acquire the needed 21st century skills especially the 5 Cs namely: Communication,
Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Character while taking into
consideration their needs and circumstances.
In addition to the material in the main text, you will also see this box in the body of
the module:
As a facilitator you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module.
You also need to keep track of the learners' progress while allowing them to manage
their own learning. Moreover, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners
as they do the tasks included in the module.
For the learner:
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for
guided and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to
process the contents of the learning material while being an active learner.
Lesson- This section will discuss the topic for this module.
Post-test - This will measure how much you have learned from
the entire module.
EXPECTATIONS
PRE–TEST
WHAT DO YOU ALREADY KNOW?
Let us find out how much you know about geometric construction.
True or False.
Directions. Write T if the statement is correct and write F if the statement is
incorrect. Write your answer on the blank before the number.
_____1. Diameter is a straight line drawn from the center to circumference of the
circle.
_____2. Tangent is a straight line which touches the circumference in only one point
even if the line is extended.
_____3. Trapezium has two opposite sides parallel.
_____4. Square has four equal side and its angles are right angle.
_____5. Hexagon has seven equal sides and angles.
RECAP
Let us find out if you still remember our previous lesson. Try to answer the following
questions.
Geometric constructions.
Technical drawing works with lines, angles, circles and intersections, with
solids, and with geometric shapes, such as hexagon. Constructions of this kind
involve the principles of geometry. This lesson provides more information about the
theory of geometric constructions.
Circle. It is a figure of a closed curve, all points of which equidistant from the
center.
Circumference- the distance around the circle.
Diameter- a straight line drawn through the center of a circle meeting the
circumference at both ends.
Radius- a straight line drawn from the center to the circumference.
Arc- any part of the circumference.
Chord- any straight line drawn across the circle meeting the circumference at
both ends.
Tangent- a straight line which touches the circumference in only one point even
if the line is extended to any direction.
Segment- a part of a circle bounded by an arc and a chord.
Sector- a part of a circle bounded by two radii and an arc.
Quadrant- a part of a circle bounded by two radii at right angles and an arc.

Regular Polygon. A plane figure bounded by straight lines with equal sides and
angles.
Pentagon has 5 sides
Hexagon has 6 sides
Heptagon has 7 sides

Directions: Find the word CIRCLE and the 9 parts of a circle by drawing vertical,
horizontal and diagonal lines inside the grid box, and list down the parts of a circle
on the space provided. Example: A K A
