10 Human Relationship

Romantic relationship is a relationship between a man and a woman who are in love.
 they spend their free time together
 they go on holidays, to the cinema, theatre, to a restaurant
 they are happy
 they express their love with kisses, hugs, holding hands
 after some time, they can decide to get married and/or live together, they become wife
and husband or just partners.
 sometimes when they have problems in their relationship, they can argue or break up
 a married couple can be separated, it means they don’t live together anymore, or they
can get divorced and officially end their marriage.
 The story of a romantic relationship: they meet – get to know each other – become
friends – go for a date – fall in love - go out together – live together – get engaged –
get married – have children (- have a row – split up/break up – separate – divorce)

Friendly relationship is a relationship among friends.


 they have similar hobbies
 enjoy spending time together
 trust and help each other
 get on well together
 talk about their problems at school, with boyfriends, parents
 share the same values and similar attitudes towards life
 they can also argue sometimes
 a real friend should be friendly, kind, supportive, helpful, understanding, outgoing=
=sociable, open, loyal = faithful, reliable, sincere, responsible, funny, tactful…

Family relationship is a relationship between parents and children.

There are many other relationships, for example


 at work - a relationship between employers and employees, among colleagues,
 at school - a relationship between teachers and students, among students, teachers
 at home - a relationship among neighbours

How to help a friend in need:


 be with him, talk to him, listen to him,
 be calm and supportive
 be positive, honest, realistic, helpful
 take him out, make him laugh
 don´t make gossips, be loyal
 give him advice, offer help, solutions
 show empathy

Young people are very sociable and like meeting with friends. The make friends easily and it
´s not a problem for them to get out of their comfort zone. There are a lot of places, situations
and opportunities where to make new friends:
 at parties, discos, concerts, festivals;
 at restaurants, bars, cafes, night clubs;
 when travelling during holidays;
 via social network, for example FB... ;
 at school, at work when doing part-time job;
 when doing sport (for example in the gym, swimming pool, fitness centre...);
 at cultural classes, courses, clubs (for example dance, art, music...);
 when doing hobbies
