    Assemble all the equipment: soap,towel,warm running water toothpick and surgical brush

    RATIONALE: to prevent being delayed

    Stand in front of the sink, keeping hands and uniform away from sink surface.

    There are four common types of faucet controls:

    a) Hand-operated handles.

     Wet hand thoroughly by holding them under the running water and apply enough soap to the

     Rinse hands with water

    Rationale: constrains microorganisms from becoming rinsed away from the most infected to the least
    infected parts of the hand.

     Dry thoroughly with a single use towel

    Rationale: Contamination is prevented by drying from the least to the most contaminated areas.

     Use towel to turn off the faucet

    Rationale: Protects clean hands against coming into direct contact with contaminated tap.
