future demand if any.

 Manufacturer’s test certificate to establish conformity with relevant IS Codes shall be furnished
by supplier.

 Check for pressure test in the plumbing line and any leakages.
 Pipe lines packing to be done with chips concrete (Including high level packing)
 Clearance from plumbing and electrical.

1.3 BUTTON MARK FIXING:

 Bull fixing should be done at 12mm thickness, after completion of surface preparation the
distance has to be maintained with in the straight edge
 Bull fixing done by plumb bop, spirit & right angle especially all inside & External corner.

1.4 TILE MARKING AND FIXING:

 Cement mortar is prepared with very fine sand at ratio of 1:3 & Plastering thickness 12mm.
 Now line of base tile should be set as per architectural drawing.
 Height equal to the length of one tile is marked on the wall from FFL at the lowest point of
the area then it is transferred to other walls in the room. This is to ensure that the bottom most
row of tiles is never than half the length of full tile
 An aluminium straight edge is kept at this level along the length of the wall and the
aluminium straight edge is supported at it two ends.
 Tile laying pattern on the wall are marked, which helps in locating plumbing points to the
centre of tile.
 The entire area of the wet tile is buttered with the mortar.
 Neat cement paste shall be battered on the back of the tile pressed on to the background

 A gap of 2mm is maintained for wall tiles.
 In the tile, two spacers are placed at the top and bottom corners where the next tile is going to
be placed.
 Spirit level should be used and level of the tile faces should be checked after fixing a tile.
 Always match the lines of the tiles vertically and horizontally and check if any corner juts out
of the line dori, If it does, adjust with the help of wooden mallet.
 Ensure that the tiling has an equal slop and overlaps on the vertical tile.
 Sufficient curing should be done for three days minimum.

1.5 INSPECTION METHODOLOGY FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE

 Check for conformance of the tiled pattern, specifications and tile grout colour to the approved
drawings.

 Check for uniformity in line, level and grout thickness visually.

 Check of straightness of tiled surface. The fresh tiled surface should be of proper level using a

spirit level / Aluminium straight edge or line dori.

 Ensure that no tile is broken / cracked and the joints are well filled.

 Tap the tiled surface to check for hollowness.

PROCEDURE – CEMENTITIOS GROUTING:

 After completion of tile laying, grouting process is done.

 Required quantity of grouting material is mixed to the required consistency before starting the
grouting process.
 The well mixed grout is taken in a rubber squeegee and applied only on the gaps between the
tiles.
 The grout material is applied between the tile gaps by pressing it inside the gap, so that it gets
properly filled in the gap without any voids.
 Then the excess grouting material is cleaned off from the tiles using a white cleaning cloth.
 This application of tile grout improves the aesthetics of the tiled surface.
