Password Reset Activation for Active Okta Users
1. Log into Okta Dashboard – https://pna.okta.com
2. After logging in for the first time after the password reset policy has been assigned, you will be
presented with the below screen to add a mobile phone number to receive the recovery SMS
code. This phone number is kept private and cannot be seen by anyone, including Okta
administrators.

If your security question was not updated already it will prompt you to create one. Please
create one and then select the “Add Phone Number” option

Note: If you are not presented with the option to add your mobile at login, please skip to page
5.

3. Confirm your Country is correct, then enter your phone number then select “Send Code”

4. You will then receive a text message with a six-digit code. On the next window enter this code
and press the “Verify” button”

5. Once the number has been verified, you will see message “Phone number successfully
verified!” Select the Done Button, and then select “Done” or “Create Account” on the second
Window (figure 1.5).

Add SMS Mobile Number from Okta Dashboard
1. From your Okta dashboard, navigate to your profile in the top right-hand corner of the dashboard
and select the down arrow then press “Settings”. You may be prompted to authenticate again.

2. Under the setting page, scroll down to the “Forgot Password Text Message” section and click
button to add your mobile phone number.

3. Follow the steps shown on Page 3, steps 3 – 5 to add your mobile.

4. If you do not recall what your Password question issue or did not create one prior, please select the
edit option for the “Forgotten Password Question” to add/update your answer.

Reset Password from Okta Dashboard
1. If you need to perform a password reset of your Okta password, once you have logged into
Okta, navigate to your profile in the top right-hand corner of the dashboard and select the down
arrow then press “Settings”

2. On the next window, select the “Edit Profile” button. You will be asked to verify your Okta
password. Enter your password in the second window (figure 2.1) and select “Verify”.

3. Complete the MFA authentication process.

4. Using the “Change Password” option, enter your current password and the new password you
will want to change to, then select “Change Password.”

Please Note: You can continue to use the existing option on your PC to reset your password if your PC is
on the PNA network (while using Zscaler/VPN or in office) by selecting “CTRL + ALT + DEL” and using the
change password option.

Forgotten Password Reset (Cannot Log in)

1. If you have forgotten your Okta password and cannot log in, at the Okta login screen, select the
“New help signing in” option then select “Forgot Password.” At the second window enter your
email address then select option to “Reset via SMS” or “Reset via Email.”
a. If you use the option to “Reset via SMS”, the verification code will be sent to your
mobile, continue to step b. For the option to “Reset via Email” proceed to step 2.

b. Enter the verification code sent to your mobile in the next window and then select
“Verify”.

c. On the next screen enter the answer to the “Forgotten Password Challenge” question
you had previously created when activating your Okta account and then select “Reset
Password.”
Please Note: If you forgot this security answer, you will have to contact your helpdesk
department to reset.

2. If you selected the option to reset your password via email, you will receive a password reset
email in your inbox. Select the password reset link within that email and follow the steps to
reset your password.

Password Expiration Reminder
1. Please note, Okta will begin to notify you of your password expiration 7 days prior when you are
logging into Okta. It will continue to notify you each day until the password expiration day. You
can use the options on the login screen to reset your password. If your password has already
expired, Okta will force you to reset the password at your next login.
