RATIONALE:
Through the years, the GSP continues to pursue vigorously its character building
and youth development programs and is actively contributing to the economic thrust of the
country as part of the Movement’s commitment to nation-building.
In compliance with DepEd Order (DO) 68, S. 2003 titled Revitalizing the Girl
Scouting Movement in Schools. The Scouting Movement, through the Boy Scouts of the
Philippines (BSP) and the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP), is an effective program in
the leadership and value formation of every child. The main objective of this Program is
consistent with the Department’s mission to enhance, support, and develop boys and girls
into well-rounded individuals with exemplary character. The BSP and the GSP have, so
far, produced leaders who are true to the Scout Oath and Law or Girl Scout Promise and
Law.
With its impressive track record on youth development, the DepEd recognizes the
significant role of the BSP and the GSP in helping the school system mold pupils and
students into responsible and responsive citizens of the country. As a co-curricular
program, scouting activities help stem away vices and bad influences of drugs and peers.
In line from the Advisory No. 045, s. 2022 dated September 15, 2022, the Salawag
Elementary School-Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) continue to share the Girl
Scouting light and uphold the Movement’s legacy of excellence, resilience, virtue, and
