a. Converted common units of linear measure from larger unit to smaller unit and vice
versa: meter and centimeter.
b. Showed the proper use of measurement
c. Applied measurements in daily life.

a. Greetings

Good Morning Class ! “Good Morning Ma'am ”

b. Prayer
May I request everyone to please stand.Miss
Furton, kindly lead the prayer!

Before we started kindly arrange your 3. 10
change, sit properly and listen carefully.

B. Motivation /DRILL
Write your answer in the “show-me” board. 1. 5
Raise your show-me board when I tell you too. 2. 75
3. 30
A. Find the product.

1. 100 x 5

2. 100 x 3
“Our lesson yesterday was all about
3. 100 x 6 converting Time Measure involving
Days, Weeks Months and Years.”
B. Find the quotient.
1. 400 ÷ 4
2. 2. 700 ÷ 7
3. 1000 ÷ 100

C. Find the fractional part.

C. PRESENTATION 2. 90 days

Raising of Motive Questions 3. 730 days

What was our topic last meeting?

D. Reading of the book/Hand-outs

Kindly review our last topic. We will
have a short quiz to check your
understanding.

Answering of Motive Questions

To check your understanding let us have Mark and Rizza
a short quiz. Get your quiz notebook.

1. 14 days = _____ weeks 1 meter

2. 3 months = ____ days

100 centimeters
3. 2 years (no leap year)
= _____ d
Both measurements are correct.
E. Discussion

I have here a situation.

Mark and Rizza measured the
length of the teacher's table.
Mark found that it to be 1 meter
long, while Rizza claimed that it
is 100 cm. Whose measurement
is correct? Why?

Who measured the length of the

teacher’s table?

How long is the table according

to mark? G- get along

How long is the table according R- respect others

to Rizza?
O- on task
Whose measurement is correct?
U- use soft voices
Therefore, 1 meter is equal to
100 centimeters or vice- versa. P- participate

Group Activity

The class will be divided into four groups. Each

group will be given an envelope. Inside the
envelope is an activity sheet and Read the Objects Measures in
instructions carefully. You will put your answers Centimeters (cm)
in the Manila paper .You will be given 10
minutes to complete the task. 1. Yarn 1. 300
2. Stick 2. 100
Two reporters will stand in front and read your 3. Thread 3. 400
work. To have an organized activity I
Have here the rules in doing your Group activity.
Objects Measure in
Remember the acronym meters (m)
G.R.O.U.P
1. Yarn 1. 3
2. Stick 2. 1
3. Thread 3. 4

Directions: In groups, measure the length of the

given objects using meter stick or tape measure.

Group 1 and 3

Objects Measures in
Centimeters (cm)
1. Yarn
Meter/ m
2. Stick
Centimeters/ cm
3. Thread

In centimeters it measures 300 cm.

Group 2 and 4
In meters it measures 3 cm
Objects Measure in
meters (m)

1. Yarn Multiply 3 by 100; 3 x 100 = 300 cm

2. Stick
3. Thread

Divide 400 by 100; 400 ÷ 100 = 4 m

Post and Reporting

Let us give GOOD JOB clap to all the

reporters.

What are the units of measure that you

use in measuring the objects?
2 x 100 = 200 cm
10 x 00 = 1000 cm
How long is the yarn in centimeters? In
meters?
1 meter = 100 centimeters
¾ x 100 cm
300 cm/4
If 3 meters is already given as the length
=75 cm
of the rope, how can we get its length in
centimeters?
Method 1
Convert 600 cm to m
Very Good !
600 ÷ 100 = 6 m
In thread, how can we change 400
centimeters to meters?
Method 2
Convert 3 m to cm
3 x 100 = 300 cm
Let us try this.

How many centimeters are there in 2

meters? 10 meters?
To convert meter to centimeter, multiply
the number of meters by 100.

What is ¾ of a meter? To convert centimeter to meter, divide

the number of centimeter by 100.

Which is longer? 600 cm or 3 m?

Why?

H. Generalization

How is meter converted to

centimeter?

How is centimeter converted to

meter?

IV. Evaluation
Write >, <, or = to complete the statement.

1. 7 m 300 cm + 400 cm

2. 600 cm – 200 cm 10 cm

3. 5m + 6m 20,000 cm

4. 1,100 cm – 900 cm 2 m

V. Assignment
Measure the length of the following objects found in your home:
a) height of the door,
b) length of the television
c) and width of the table.
Record your measures in centimeter and meters.
