V.ACTIVITIES

1.Define the Bill of Rights?

A bill of rights is a list of the most important rights of the citizens of a country. It is
sometimes called a declaration of rights or a charter of rights. The purpose is to protect those
rights against infringement from public officials and private citizens.

2.Discuss the impotance of the Bill of Rights?

The bill of rights is an express constitutional enumeration of the rights guaranteed by
the State to all persons within its territory, regardless of citizenship, sex race color or creed. The
purpose of a bill of rights is to withdraw certain subjects from the vicissitudes of political
controversy, to place them beyond the reach of majorities and officials and to establish them as
legal principles to be applied by the courts. Because ones right to life, liberty and property, to
free speech, a free press, freedom of worship and assembly, and other fundamental rights may
not be submitted to vote, they depend on the outcome of no elections.

3. Explain what a constitution is?

A constitution is an aggregate of fundamental principles or established precedents that
constitute the legal basis of a polity, organization or other type of entity and commonly
determine how that entity is to be governed.

4. Enumerate the citizens of the Philippines?

Section 1 of the Philippine Constitution provides that the following are citizens of the
Philippines like those who are citizens of the Philippines at the time of the adoption of this
constitution, to those whose fathers or mothers are citizens of the Philippines, to those born
before January 17, 1973, of Filipino mothers, who elect Philippine Citizenship upon reaching the
age of majority and lastly to those who are naturalized in accordance with law.

5. State the duties and obligations of citizens?

The duties and obligations of every citizens is . First to be loyal to the republic ,this
means that we have faith and confidence in the Republic and love for and devotion to the
country .We have to be proud being Filipinos, respect our customs, traditions, language and
institutions. Second, To depend the State, considering the fact that our country is our home, it
is our prime duty to love and defend the state at all costs regardless of our creed, religious
beliefs and wisdom. Third, To contribute to the development and welfare of the State. We are a
part of the State and we directly receive the benefits from the government in the form of
infrastructure, peace and order, etc. We can do this in the form of paying our taxes willingly
and promptly, by helping maintain peace and order, conserving natural resources, the
promotion of social justice by suggesting supportive measures beneficial to the people as a
whole, by patronizing local products and trade and by engaging in productive work. Fourth, To
uphold the Constitution and obey the laws. It is our prime obligation to uphold the Constitution
and obey the laws. If the people would disregard them, our country would collapse and we will
not have peace and order. Fifth, To cooperate with duly constituted authorities. In every
organization, there is always a leader to manage the affairs of all constituents. If the members
will not cooperate, we can never expect to become successful in all the undertakings that our
government would like to do for the good of its citizens. Sixth, To depend the State. Considering
the fact that our country is our home, it is our prime duty to love and defend the state at all
costs regardless of our creed, religious beliefs and wisdom. Seventh, To uphold the Constitution
and obey the laws. It is our prime obligation to uphold the Constitution and obey the laws. If
the people would disregard them, our country would collapse and we will not have peace and
order. Eighth, To exercise rights responsibly and with due regard for the rights of others. No
man is an island and we have to live with others. In the exercise of our rights, we have to see it
that we also respect the rights of other people. If we do this, we can expect harmonious
relationship among members of the society. Ninth, To engage in gainful work. It is stated in the
Bible that if we want to eat, we have to work. It is our obligation as citizens of our country to
become productive, by engaging in gainful work so that we can provide the basic needs of our
family and ourselves as well. As cited by de Leon(1989), the essence of life is work. Every citizen
should bear in mind that only by hard and sustained work can men and nations live and survive.
National greatness never springs from the cult of ease or self-complacency, but from the
crucible of grim struggle and patient industry. And the last one is , To register and vote. It is our
prime duty as citizens of the Philippines to register and vote. Suffrage is both privilege and a
duty, which every qualified citizen must perform. It is not sufficient to just register and vote, but
it is coupled with intellectual judgement during election. We have to consider the different
political issues presented by different candidates, so that, at least, we can choose the best
person to manage government affairs.

5.Give the difference between interpersonal and intrapersonal value conflicts?

Interpersonal conflict refers to any type of conflict involving two or more people. Its
different from an intrapersonal conflict, which refers to an internal conflict with yourself. Mild
or severe, interpersonal conflict is a natural outcome of human interaction. Also based from
Andres(1988). For him , intrapersonal is experienced by an individual within himself brought by
the remorse of his own conscience or sometimes pressure coming from other people and for
the interpersonal he said, this often happens in classroom organizations when two or more
individuals are not in the same views, ideas or opinions.

6.Describe man as a person?

When it comes to the term person it cannot be exclusively attached to human beings
vice-versa. A bussiness interprise is a person, although it is not a human being. On the other
hand, a slave is a human being, but he is not a person by virtue of his being divested of all his
rights as a human being-although he is still a human being. In this case, a slave is not considered
as an existing subject but a mere object. Man as a person means that man is unique, a who, a
subject, and a self, man is never alone in his existence in the world, man has that indelible
trademark of his "being-with" existence in the world. Since man is person, his "being -with"
existence should not be confused with a " being-for" kind of existence. Because being- for is the
opposite of being-with in the sense that the latter is heading in a direction of treating man as a
person. In mans intersubjectivity, man is called to treat his fellowman as a person, this is made
possible only in the context of mans "being-with" existence. Man "being-with-others" can be
viewed from two standpoints, by general and specific. Generally, mans being-with-others as a
person is his intrinsic "being-with" to both things and fellow human being. Specially, mans
"being-with-others" as a person in his irrefutable "being-with" his fellowmen only. In the
specific sphere, mans "being-with" his fellowmen is treated in the existencial perspective
because things do not exist, man alone has the capacity to co-exist with fellow, human beings.
Mans co-existence or intersubjectivity, on the one hand, does not require a learning process or
experience, since mans "being-with" is a priori and intrinsic in his being a person. On the other
hand, mans "being-with-others" requires a learning process in the context of the quality or
mode of mans being-with since human relatedness is not immediately given but needs to be
established.

5. Discuss the role of the youth in disaster preparedgeness?

By involving youth in disaster preparedness and recovery efforts, youth-serving agencies
can help to not onlyincrease youths awareness of particular hazards, but can also enhance the
chance that they openly discuss how to adequately protect their families and loved ones and
understand how to seek help should their community be affected according to Lauten(2002).
Youth can play a range of roles in youth preparedness programs and play a crucial role in
recovery efforts. They may assist communities in mapping their risk and protective factors or
may hold leadership positions within programs. Here are some additional roles likes sharing the
message, according to Ronan(2008) youth can help share the message of disaster
preparedness. Acting as change maker, youth can act as change makers by sharing information
they learned in youth preparedness programs and helping parents and communities to prepare
for disaster, for example by developing a disaster plan or disaster preparation kit. And bringing
creativity, youth can bring creative and resourceful ideas to disaster preparedness efforts from
Barlett,2008.Youth can play an important role in disaster preparedness and recovery according

preparation and adoption of a local youth disaster plan and also evaluate its implementation.
He or she should also participate in the LDRRM budget process, present position papers or
