impromptu and extemporaneous speeches.

- The teacher will flash pictures in the presentation.
- Then, the student will have to know what does each picture wants to
convey.

 The teacher will present her slides and discuss the lesson clearly.

What is a claim?
- A claim is the main argument of an essay. It defines your paper’s
goals, direction, scope, and is supported by evidences.

Types of Claim
- Claim of Fact
- Claim of Value
- Claim of Policy

B. Development Claim of Fact


- It asserts that conditions existed, exits, or will exist are based on
facts or data.
- It makes an assertion about something that can be proved or
disproved with factual evidence.
Examples:
1. Covid-19 is now an air-born virus.
2. Teens who engaged in unprotected sex are prone to diseases.

Claim of Value
- A claim of value argues that something is good or bad, or that one
thing is better than another thing.
Example:
1. It’s better to apply good nutritional choices at home than teach them at
school, because good nutrition then becomes ingrained in the child’s
experience.

Claim of Policy
- A claim of policy argues that certain conditions should exist, or that
something should or should not be done, in order to solve a
problem.
Example:
1. Marijuana should not be legalized because many people will abuse it.

WHAT IS IT?
 The teacher will flash again those pictures that have been
presented earlier.
 The student will think of the type of claim that they have formulated
in those pictures.

policy, and value.

Analyze each sentence below. Identify whether it is a FACT

school in making sure that education continues for all learners.

 The teacher shall present an issue through an image/ infographic.
 The student will task to formulate and present a claim out of the
provided pictures.

 The teacher will ask the students to answer the following questions:

3. What is the importance of learning these different claims in this present
time?
