1. Write the concepts that should be developed in each broad area. Determine the grade

2. Name the concepts or science principle developed in each activity


(Note: It is helpful to perform the activity)

Activity 1:
1) Get a paper clip and straighten up with a pliers.
2) Cut it in half
3) Make a – inch hook at the end of each wire
4) Tape the wire to the ends of 2 pencils
5) Loop the elastic band round the wire hooks and hold the pencils together
with their ends level
6) Release your finger and the pencils
7) Take note of the distance traveled by both pencils.
8) Now place the pencils together as before. Release only one pencil, holding
the other.

Activity 2:
1) Get a carbon paper.
2) Cover a young leaf with it.

1) Scatter small pieces of paper on your desk.
2) Rub your comb with a piece of woolen cloth several times.
3) Bring the comb over the pieces of paper.

a) Gravity makes something falls faster to the ground. This is acceleration
due to gravity.
b) The solubility of most solutes increases when the temperature of the
solvent increases.
c) White light is a mixture of many colors of light.
d) A seed has different parts: embryo, cotyledon, seed coat.
e) Magnetism is strongest at the poles.

2. Identify the process skills used in the following activities.

Activity 1:

a) Make an electromagnet.
b) Wrap the wire around the nail 20 times.
c) Bring the wrapped nail to a bunch of paper clips.
d) Count the number of paper clips that are attracted.
e) Using the same wrapped nail, wrap wire around it 30 more times.
f) Count the number of paper clips that are attracted this time.
g) Compare results for (d) and (f).
