Course Description
Data Manipulation and Visualization is an applicative course aimed at building technical skills in business
graduates. The skills developed in this course will cover a data pipeline allowing students to query data from SQL,
fetch it in Excel, and visualize it in PowerBI. The course is designed to help students understand data pipelines
and basic database queries along with dashboard creation to prepare them for leading similar projects in the
corporate environment. It will also enable them to set realistic timelines and negotiate on the same when working
with resources from other departments and teams such as the DBAs or the development teams.

1. Students will learn advanced Excel skills to understand and manipulate data to analyze business problems

3. Students will be able to utilize PowerBI to create visualizations and dashboards to analyze data

4. Students will be able to understand relational DBMS and develop basic ERP design

5. Students will be able to understand and utilize SQL queries to pull data from database
(mapped to PLO 303)
1. Students are required to have a stable internet connection and computer to attend class
2. Students should be ready for surprise quizzes/assignemts in class
3. Assignments/Projects/Tests will be uploaded on Learning Management System (LMS).
4. Unannounced quizzes will be taken to gauge student progress

the material. In addition, you should ensure that lectures are understood properly.
• A student who misses a class is responsible for obtaining any handouts and information on course
content, assignments, due dates, test dates, etc.
• Unethical behavior (cheating, plagiarism, proxy attendance) will be strictly penalized – Will be reported
to HOD
• All course materials will be posted on LMS and grades will be posted on ERP. Students are responsible
to stay updated on these platforms.
