TIME:
DATE:

I. OBJECTIVES:
A.) CONTENT STANDARDS:
The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of measures of
position.
B.) PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
The leaner is able to investigate thoroughly the Mathematical relationships
in various situations, .formulate real-life problems involving measures of position
and, solve them using a variety of strategies.
C.) LEARNING COMPETENCIES/ OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a.) identify the score of different deciles (M10AL-IVA-1);
b.) illustrate the measures of position in deciles for ungrouped data;
c.) Value the import ance and usefulness of the concept of the measures of
position in dealing real-life situations.
II. LEARNING RESOURCES:
a.) Subject Matter: Decile for Ungrouped data
b.) References: Learner’s Material pages 373-375
Additional references: Mathematics in the Modern World (pp. 97-100)
c.) Time Allotment: 60 minutes
d.) Materials: Visual Aids, speaker, powerpoint, tag board, manila paper.

*Checking of Attendance
*Collecting assignment
*Drill

Mechanics: the students will pass the
box while playing the music of “you
do note is the liar is mah peyk”. If the
music will stop, the student who is
holding the box will pick a cut out

question.
Consequences: if the student didn’t
able to give the correct answer, he/
she’ll dance the music in front of the
class.
B. REVIEWING PREVIOUS LESSON
DIRECTIONS: Calculate the data below.
Data: Ascending order
10, 6, 4,5,7,8,3,10,7,6 3,4 ,5,6,6,7,7,8,10,10
Find the lower quartile. Solution:
Qk = K/4 (n+1)
Q1 = ¼ (10+1)
Q1 = ¼ (11)
Q1 = 11/4
Q1 = 2. 75
Very good! Q1 = 3rd
“UNLOCKING OF TERMIOLOGIES” Q1 = 5
1.) QUARTILE (1879) – divides the
distribution into 4 parts.
2.) PERCENTILE (1885) – divides the
distribution into 100 parts.
3.) QUANTILES – divide the distribution
into 4, 10,100.
4.) ASCENDING (1581) – increasing to a
higher levels.
5.) DESCENDING (13TH CENTURY) –
decreasing to a lower levels.

C. MOTIVATION
