Lesson - 7
Lesson - 7
Lesson - 7
God didn't simply form the universe out of pre-existent matter. God created all matter into the
form of the present universe. He did this miraculous, creative work with nothing but the words
from his mouth (Genesis 1:3,6,9,11,14,20). The creation of the earth happened by God's
word. Wow!
He is now sustaining the world by holding it together (Colossians 1:16-17). In other words, God
is the cosmic glue that binds all atomic particles that form the things we see. Without his word
holding the atoms together, there would be mass chaos throughout the universe.
The Genesis chapter’s one & two account of God's creation of the earth, and all things on it,
holds true even after the recent attacks of secular science. People who love the Lord must better
discern claims from the secular world. When information attempting to discredit the Bible
passes our way we have to ask strong and bold questions. Be suspicious, be inquisitive and
be biblically strong!
I built a small list of questions (there are many more!) to ask when studying the origins of
creation, and specifically, the creation of the earth:
1
• Assuming a big bang occurred, the "matter that went BANG!" had to have an origin.
Where did the matter originate?
• Did trillions of rounded stars and a perfectly synchronized solar system all happen by an
accidental explosion?
• Are the planets accidentally circling our sun in a perfect orbit?
• Do big bang accidents create universal order, synchronized harmony, and breath-taking
beauty?
• Don't explosions usually wreak havoc and destruction?
• Is the clock-like rotation of the earth a product of an unguided massive explosion?
• Is the earth accidentally placed in an orbit which gives humans perfectly controlled, life
supporting light, oxygen, heat, water, and food?
Thusly, things made up of matter break down from their original state - they do NOT evolve into
a greater, more defined form. The creation regresses and in no way progresses!
There are growing numbers of resources available that offer plenty of evidence for creationism.

Human Evidence?
The big bang and its companion evolution ideas lack hard evidence, which would be okay IF
there were eyewitnesses. Of course, there are none and never will be. The reason is that neither
of these scenarios happened in reality.
These ideas only happened in the minds of people throughout history - even dating back to
Aristotle's day. Their ideas of the creation of the earth are simply human imaginations based on
strong anti-biblical biases.
But why? Why do people attempt to discredit God and the Bible? Certain people need to
disprove God and his word in order to make their worldview logical. They don't believe in a
God-ordained morality code, and don't believe that a person will be held accountable for
breaking God's moral codes - the Ten Commandments. People are attempting to remove God's
judgment upon mankind's sin. That will never happen.
Certain people seek to disprove God by striving to find the origin of life. They truly believe they
can discover where life chemically originated. Phenomenal amounts of human and financial
resources are devoted to the task of finding the origins of both the universe and life itself, and
thusly discrediting the creation of the earth, humanity, and animal accounts found in Genesis 1.
2
Again, this could never happen because God and his Word are truth, and any threats that
arise will be put to shame. You can count on it! (Isaiah 44:24-25)
What is Life?
You may be wondering what I mean by "life?" We're talking here about organic life. Something
has life if its functions promote living, in order to not die. As an example, a plant has life,
because it consumes oxygen, sunlight, food and water in its quest for survival.
An animal has needs much the same as plants, as do humans. Without the required resources to
survive, the living thing, animal, or person will die and return to the earth. Death is the separation
of life from the matter which formed the living thing. Compare this with a rock, which is
inorganic by nature. A rock needs nothing to maintain its original state of being.
Some people don't believe in Jesus Christ, therefore they don't believe in Moses' writings.
Moses' writings were God-breathed (2 Peter 1:20-21); so, we hear directly from the Lord in
the case of God's creation of the earth.
Jesus Christ was there - He WAS the Creator! He is our witness to God's creation!
God's creation of the earth was the final touch in God's unfathomable universal building project.
He spoke, and matter and objects were created, instantly! Whether it was a star, a planet or the
earth, or any living thing, it was formed instantly. Yes, you heard me right, God created life! God
actually breathed life into his organic creations. Life cannot come from non-life - it simply isn't
possible.
I won't spend time here promoting intelligent-design apologetics. I believe we should relax with
the pressure to verify God's creative work in our universe. We are so overly worried about
creationism's academic responsibility to science that we lose our focus in our Christian walk. If
proof of the origins of life is necessary for you, then question science, while believing in the
Bible.
Place science under a microscope, but in the meantime, trust God's word (Psalm 18:30).
Grasp This!
Yet another choice is before you, of which there are two options.
3
Your first choice is believing that an accidental explosion created a perfectly synchronized
universe, full of life, but with no purpose. This option possesses no eyewitnesses.
Or, you can believe an omniscient, omnipotent, sovereign God of miracles created our
universe, with life and purpose. This choice has one trustworthy witness - Jesus Christ
himself.
The Bible states God's expectations of what he desires concerning our belief of his creation
work. Hebrews 11:3 emphatically states, "By faith we understand that the entire universe was
formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen."
God's word says faith in his creation of the earth is faith in him, and faith in him is the
grounds of our salvation. That means your belief in creation's origin is rather important,
would you agree? Get to know him, your Creator (Colossians 3:10), because he created you
to know and glorify him.
1) Can you find the Christian Trinity members in the Genesis chapters 1 & 2 creation of the
earth account?
2) Why do so many people trust the myth of evolution, but not the creation of the earth
found in God's word?
3) Take a walk outside, and observe the many beautiful plants and creatures. Ask yourself if
those things have no living Creator - honestly reply in prayer to God.
For the LORD is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He
made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. Isaiah 45:18
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Day after day they
continue to speak; night after night they make him known. They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all
the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. It bursts forth like a radiant
bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. The sun rises
at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat.
Psalm 19:1-6
4
Through him [Jesus] all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
John 1:3
Prayers of Thanksgiving:
Dear Lord, When I look out my window and see all the beauty you created, my heart wonders
back to you. The creation of the earth is magnificent, but does it compare to your home? How
beautiful heaven must be! Jesus, whatever it takes, whatever the cost, whatever the cup I must
drink, please let me be with you for eternity. Thank you, my sweet Savior. Amen
