Voter Registration Removal Letter

Before completing any other paperwork, it would be best to cancel previous contracts. This would include
Voter Registration. Here are the instructions for cancelling Voter Registration.

Contact your County’s Supervisor of the Elections Office

Tell them you’d like to cancel your voter registration and be removed from the record and ask
how to go about it (each county may have different requests). Some may ask for a copy of your ID,
Driver’s License, or signature that matches the record, etc.
Use the letter template below and edit to include your information and whatever information
requested by the SoE correspondent
Change all text to black and delete all direction {in blue braces}
Print the letter
Autograph in blue ink on the By: line
Affix your red, right thumb print touching the end of your name
Fill out an envelope with the address to the County’s Supervisor of the Elections Office & your
return address
Affix a red Registered Mail sticker (available at USPS). DO NOT use certified mail (that’s for
corporations).
Affix green Return Receipt card (available at USPS)
Affix postage stamp(s)
Make a copy (scanned if possible) of the letter, front of envelope, and back (if there is anything)
Keep a copy for your records in a safe place
If you scanned a copy, email the scanned images to your SoE and and correspondents
Mail the letter
You can track your letter and the return receipt at www.USPS.com
