    to decorate or Protect and any substrate
    from Atmosphere.
    PIGMENT / Fillers :
    • Pigments is a colorant Substance Organic / Inorganic
    Insoluble in any solvents .
    • They are dispersed in the Thickener / Binders
    • Pigment Give Color, Opacity , Gloss ,Hidding Power
    ,Tinting Strength .
    • Titanium Dioxide is mainly White Pigment .
    • Fillers increase bulk Value of the Water base Paint .
    • Fillers also Called Secondary Pigments .
    • Calcium carbonate , Talcum , China clay etc. are fillers.

    • Dye are colorant substance dissolve / Soluble in


    Solvent and is Transparent .

    • Dye are poor Light Fastness in Weathering .

    • Not use in Water base Exterior Paints .

    5. pH controller (Alkaline ).
    6. Leveling Agent.
    7. Wetting Agent.
    How does water base paint dry?
    • When paint dries, a thin polymer film is
    formed that adheres to the surface and
    suspends the pigments.
