“Analysis on the Impact and Role of the Church’s Expectation in the Involvement of a
INTRODUCTION
This thesis will be an investigative study of Pastors’ Kids (PKs) in Bible Baptist
Churches, with the purpose of providing a clear speculative expectations and conjectural notion
such as their life, social being, development, identity, challenges, pressure, health, and church’.
Showing what the real towards the people who view the Pastors’ Kids as a role model with
regards in the ministry. For the reason of that, the researcher will seek the facts and environment
of their life, whether it private and public life, spiritual and carnal, and inside and outside the
church ministry.
This thesis will provide an analysis on the impact and role of the church’s expectation in
the life of the Pastors’ Kids (PKs) of Bible Baptist Churches. With the church’s expectations, it
builds a scrutiny for the Pastor’s Kids (PK) that makes a horde of tension towards the church’s
eyes. As a result of this, the church and other attendees may gain awareness of a Pastor’s Kids’
being. These main questions may revolve in the topic of the Researcher:
2. What are the expectations of the church from the Pastor’s Kids?
3. What are the biblical ways to deal/manage these expectations?
Therefore, this study will seek to answer the following questions the particular life of the
Pastors’ Kid (PKs) and includes as well their life. In a certain point, this research is guided by the
following questions:
3. What is the church’s expectation that affects the areas of their identity, inside and
outside?
The significance of this study is to investigate what influences church's decisions and
expectations of what pastors' children/kids should be and what elements eventually effect
pastors' children's behavior or behavior favorably or adversely the study then examines the
This study believes that if the proper physical and spiritual conditions are met,
are set in place, and the pastor and his or her children understand what the ethical
standards for their behaviour should be, pastor's children will live a life that is more
agreeable to God and exemplary in society, so elevating their parents' ministry rather than
bringing it down.

The research of DeLozier, J. E. (2013) entitled “When pastor's kid becomes college student:
Identity development of Pks during college” oversees the unique upbringing experience of
pastor's kids, with its advantages and challenges, has been widely studied in the literature.
However, there is a lack of research specifically focused on the impact and role of the
church's expectations on the life of a pastor's kid. This study aims to fill this gap by
conducting an Analysis on the Impact and Role of the Church’s Expectation in the Life of
a Pastor’s Kid, as they move away from the supportive spiritual environment in which they
grew up and the watchful eyes of their home congregation, and start a key period of
doubting their faith and creating their identity as they move from their parents' house and
church into college.
A Pilot Study of Markham et al. 2014, titled, A Qualitative Study of Pastors’ Kids at Cedarville
University: A Pilot Study, states that “Overall we found more differences than similarities.
While a few themes emerged, we mostly found that our participants varied greatly in their
views. Some of them enjoyed and took pride in being a PK, while others found shame. For
some, it strengthened their relationship with their father, and for others, it hurt it. Some
commented that being a PK helped their spiritual growth, while others said it was one of
the biggest hindrances to their spiritual growth. Some stated that having a pastor for a
father was difficult on family relationships and specifically their mother. In contrast, others
found it to be a unifying and growing experience for their whole family.”
This study aims to address this gap by conducting an Analysis on the Impact and Role of
the Church’s Expectation in the Involvement of a Pastor’s Kid in the Ministry. Our
findings show that the experiences of pastor's kids in relation to their involvement in
ministry varies greatly, as some found it to be a positive and unifying experience, while
others found it to be a hindrance to their spiritual growth. The study also revealed that the
church's expectations may play a role in shaping these experiences, and this study aims to
explore this relationship in more detail.

Jon Dahlager, D.Min. Made an article published by AGTS Encounter Journal 2012, titled,
Pastors’ Kids in Latin America: An Investigation into the Advantages and Disadvantages of the
PK Experience, starts “When pastor parents maintain a healthy home and church life, pastor's
kids (PKs) can benefit from a unique spiritual upbringing and supportive family and church
environment. This allows for the development of ministry and people skills, as well as the
formation of a supportive social network. The reduction of unfair expectations from church
leaders and parents also helps to mitigate any pain that may arise from being a PK. Through
exposure to high quality Christian ministries, travel opportunities, and a broadening of
worldview through the lens of the kingdom of God, PKs can mature and develop their gifts,
potentially leading to opportunities for ministry leadership.
Two important external factors also positively impact the experiences of PKs. Firstly, the Lord
provides grace, unconditional love, and a second chance, while also sending encouragement
through caring adults and supportive friends. Secondly, PK camps, PK friends, and trusted adult
advocates can provide a space for PKs to connect with God and "be normal." PK ministries and
trusted adult friends can also serve as a pressure release valve, helping PKs to maintain their
faith and well-being. As PKs fulfill God's purposes, both the pastoral family and the entire
church can flourish.”
