RATIONALE:

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced sudden transformation in many sectors of the global
community, turning the world upside down. Everything has been impacted, not excluding the education
sector, which has experienced some unforeseen changes in many parts of the world. The sudden transition
to online pedagogy as a result of COVID-19 in developing countries has exposed some inequalities and
challenges, as well as benefits. These challenges and inequalities have now become the new realities in the
educational sector of developing countries. Suggestions are provided in different ways so that the
challenges presented by the new approach can be mitigated while we come to terms with the disruptions
introduced by COVID-19 to our education sector.
Mental health awareness is an important issue for all educators, who are often the first line of
defense for their students. Education professionals have recognized the impact that a student's mental
health has on learning and achievement, and they realize that there's a great deal that can be done to help
students with mental health issues.

Through this, the Napolan National High School will conduct a 5-Day In-Service Training
for Teachers on Preparation and Assessment of Mental Health Development with
the theme, “ Positive Coping Lifestyles in the Workplace and Community under the
New Normal Situation ”

II. GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

Conduct Gender and Mental Health Development to all teachers and non-teaching staff of
Napolan National High School , Pagadian City.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
This Five-Day INSET for Teachers and Non- Teaching personnel aims to:
a. provide teachers and non- teaching personnel information on the concept of mental health and
well-being in home, workplace, and community contexts;
b. share possible effects of COVID 19 pandemic with its impact on mood disorders and positive
coping styles to ensure positive mental health;
c. give assistance and knowledge in evaluating, understanding, and improving teachers and non-
teaching mental status as holistically developed contributors in the academe;

d. update teachers on DO No. 49 s 2006 Revised Rules of Procedure of Department of Education in


Administrative Cases, DO No. 40s. 2012 DepEd Child Protection Policy and VAWC laws; and
f. present Digital Tools for Remote Assessment Learning
