Goals and Objectives of the Project The main objective of the research and development project is to create an online supply chain management system that has customizable features that is flexible to the needs of the web site administrator utilizing Unified Modeling Language, PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), and employing Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology in order to explore the possibility of deploying alternative information dissemination in the World Wide Web. The following are the specific objectives of the study: 1. Ultimate goal of supply chain management system is to reduce Inventory (with the assumption that products are available when needed). As a solution for successful SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, sophisticated software systems with Web interfaces are competing with Web-based application service providers (ASP) who promise to provide part or all of the SCM service for companies who rent their service. y Explain the reasons or the needs for studying the system. y Explain the processes needed to develop the system y Explain the worthiness of the proposed system using ISO/IEC 9126 Standards
Scopes and Constraints This system development project covers the software development processes in creating a non-database web-based wiki engine that is intended for website administrators and the community for creating articles on-line. This would cover posting, editing, and viewing the article. The engine will allow printing and viewing recent changes of any article. The proponent's main venture is the development of a system that will help the website administrator to easily setup the wiki engine in their site and the printing tool that would allow users to print their selected articles. To make this project more feasible to be implemented in any browser, the proponent browses the internet for websites that has a wiki engine on it so that he would understand the flow of a wiki engine system and how it should respond to the needs of an on-line reader. The proponent will utilize Rapid Application Development approach to guide the system development process in short span of time .The Unified Modeling Language (UML) will be used to document the system's application design. PHP with Wamp Server 2.0 will serve as the
platform of the proposed system. Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 and Swift 3D v6 will be utilized as supplementary development tools. A wiki engine has features that allow users to add an article where individual comments on a topic are collected and presented as a discussion thread. The proposed wiki engine that will be developed will make use of the key features of any existing wiki engine and will be limited to the features found in www.wikipedia.org where the proponent has strong familiarity and programming is easily accessible both to the proponent and IT end-users. Although articles and pages can be password protected, delimitation of the proposed system is that it does not need users to create a new account to be able to create or edit an unprotected page. y State the things that your proposed system will do. y State the things that your proposed system can do. y State the principal variables, locale, timeframe, and justification. y State the things that your proposed system can do for the user. y State the things that can make your proposed system viable.(Tools and Methods) y State the things that your proposes system cannot do.
Review of Related Literatures, System Projects, and Software Products Review of Related Conceptual Literature Business Tool Sales and Inventory as a collaborative business tool, According to the U.S. Small Business Administration on his article Inventory refers to stocks of anything necessary to do business (U.S. Small Business Administration, 2010, pp 1-2). The U.S. Small Business Administration publication describes what constitutes successful inventory management (balancing cost versus benefits of inventory), including 1) Maintaining a wide assortment without spreading the rapidly moving items too thin, 2) Increasing inventory turnover without sacrificing service, 3) Keeping stock low without sacrificing performance , 4) Obtaining lower prices by making volume purchases, 5) Maintaining an adequate inventory without an excess of obsolete items.
"It is nearly impossible to overemphasize the importance of keeping inventory levels under control," Ronald Pachura wrote in an article for IIE Solutions. "Whether the problems incurred are caused by carrying too little or too much inventory, manufacturers need to become aware that inventory control is not just a materials management or warehouse department issue. The purchasing, receiving, engineering, manufacturing, and accounting departments all contribute to the accuracy of the inventory methods and records."
