The intelligence matters every circumstance that later emerge by Rizal.

The Sucesos las islas

Filipina was the first boom cover by Rizal means. The main aspects of this mission are quickly
summarized, including Tupas's and the people's calm welcome but their eventual wrath when
Spaniards confiscated their provisions. The first Hispanic colony in Cebu, and the dispatch of the
advice-boat to Nueva Espa-a to determine the return passage and inform the new ruler of the
expedition's success. In honor of his Majesty, King Philipp II, Miguel Lopez named all the
islands Filipinas. The conquerors are given land, settlements are established gradually, and the
amount of the indigenous' tribute is specified. From this chapter, I did surprisingly found that the
Philippine capital was already moved to Manila. From this chapter also, trading between
the islands of China has been established already.
This includes all facts of life, such as political, social, and economic issues. Although Morga's
stance was more on the neutral side, we have still spotted many mistakes about the
impression about the Philippines' culture and history. His purpose all the way was to
document "the achievements accomplished by our Spaniards, namely the discovery,
conquering, and conversion of the Filipinas Islands." In today's generation, all information are
scattered already. Particularly in social media, where most data are mostly disseminated. With
that, we can encounter multiple unreliable news or sources about a specific topic. We rely so
much on the information we gather; hence doing a careful research is crucial nowadays. In
doing so, we must consider primary sources and secondary sources. Using these classified
sources, we can determine legitimate information, and thus it eliminates the gathering of fake
data. Rizal’s  annotations of Morga’s Sucesos las Islas Filipinas provides background information of the events
and situations we have in the past when we were colonized by the Spaniards. It corrects what has been distorted
about the Philippines due to Spanish conquest, and proves that Filipinos are civilized even before the coming of the
Spaniards. Thus, it is very important to know and study about the Philippine history to be aware of the facts of
events that happened before and to discern the truthfulness of Morga’s statements about our pasts. As quoted by
Rizal “To foretell the destiny of a nation, it is necessary to open the books that tell other past.
This book narrates observations about the Filipinos and the Philippines from the perspective of
the Spaniards. In fact, this book is considered valuable in the sense that it reflects the first formal
record of the earliest days of the Philippines as a Spanish colony. It planted the seeds of how
Filipinos should see themselves in the midst of a growing nationalism that eventually led to the
formation of a nation. It also serves a recognition that Filipinos previously had their own culture,
which did not necessitate the introduction of a new religion or civilization. Antonio de Morga's
Sucesos de las islas Filipinas is a classic account of the first decades of Spanish expansion into
the Philippines—the only such account written by a Spanish layman until the nineteenth century.
Morga wrote that the purpose for writing Sucesos was so he could chronicle "the deeds achieved
by our Spaniards I the discovery, conquest, and conversion of the Filipinas Islands - as well as
various fortunes that they have from time to time in the great kingdoms and among the pagan
peoples surrounding the islands. "
