R-L-C PARALLEL IN AC CIRCUIT
Objectives
1. To implement the characteristics of the parallel Resistance-Inductor-Capacitor (R-L-
C) in AC circuits and to acquire the knowledge of impedance in circuits.
2. To be able to reproduce the circuit and waveforms of the voltage and the current using
LTSpice.
Material Required
1. Digital Multimeter
2. Supply Kit IT-2000
3. Module IT-2002
4. Line cords
5. Computer PC (LTSpice software)
Theory
In a circuit, when R-L-C are connected in parallel there are current 𝑰𝑅 , 𝑰𝐿 and
𝑰𝐶 at the resistance, inductance and capacitance respectively. The phase
difference can also be determined by these currents.

2. Check the circuit with an ohmmeter before applying the power to the
circuit.
3. Set AC ammeter at 1 A range and AC voltmeter at 50 V range.
4. Apply the power to the experimental circuit. Take readings from the
meters and record them in Table 9-1
5. Change the voltage sources according to the listed values in Table 9-1
and record the values.
6. Calculate the values of 𝜃, pf, S, P and Q. Record it in Table 9-1
