    These installation instructions cover the connection of


    the Modbus and Modbus 250/500/1000 Driver to the
    Licenses
    LSM-INT-MDBS License for Modbus Driver on PXC
    vendor's Modbus system only. Modular or PXC-36

    The Modbus and Modbus 250/500/1000 Driver 538-670 Trunk Interface II, 115V
    enables communication between the APOGEE® 538-675 Trunk Interface II, 230V

    Expected Installation Time
    PXC-36 The expected installation time is 7 minutes if no cable
    PXC36-PE.A PXC Compact, 36 point, Ethernet/IP must be made and the driver does not use a Trunk
    or RS-485 ALN Interface (see Figure 2), or 30 minutes if a cable must
    PXC36-E.A PXC Compact, 36 point, BACnet/IP be made or if the driver uses a Trunk Interface (see
    or MS/TP ALN Figure 1 and Figure 2).
    PXC36-PEF.A PXC Compact, 36 point, Ethernet/IP
    or RS-485 ALN. Includes licenses Required Tools and Materials
    for TX-I/O module and P1 FLN
    support.  Flat-blade screwdriver (1/8-inch blade width).
    PXC36-EF.A PXC Compact, 36 point, BACnet/IP  Wire strippers.
    or MS/TP ALN. Includes licenses  Cabling and connectors. See the Connecting the

    CAUTION

    Always wear an electro-static


    discharge (ESD) wrist strap and
    discharge accumulated static before
    touching field panel components.

    Prerequisites
     Driver hardware is installed according to its
    respective installation instructions.
     FLN Termination blocks installed, if any.
     One AC power receptacle for each
    communication interface adapter or device.
    Depending on the type of installation, other
    prerequisites may have to be completed.

    Connecting the Driver to the


    Vendor's Modbus Master or
    Modbus Slave Devices
    Follow these steps to connect the Modbus and
    Modbus 250/500/1000 Driver to Modbus devices:
    1. Make cables per the diagram in Figure 1,
    Figure 2, or Figure 3.
    2. If applicable, install the Trunk/RS-422 or Trunk
    Interface II per the diagram in Figure 1 or
    Figure 2.
    3. Connect cables per the diagram in Figure 1, Figure 1: Using a Trunk/RS-422 Interface to Connect the
    Figure 2, or Figure 3. Driver to the Vendor’s Modbus Master or Modbus Slave
    4. If applicable, plug in the power supply for the Device.
    Trunk/RS-422 or Trunk Interface II per the
    diagram in Figure 1 or Figure 2.

    NOTE:
    For Modbus over Ethernet, use IEEE
    802.3 standard Ethernet connections
    and cabling to complete your network
    infrastructure.
