1. I understand that the Computer Store Specialist will see the data on my system. 2. In some cases, if the hard drive is defective, our diagnostic tools may worsen effect causing the drive to fail permanently. In any case, the Technicians are NOT responsible for data lost which WAS NOT BACKED UP BY YOU. 3. In some cases, the only way to resolve a system from errors is to restore the system to it's original factory condition. If this is the case you (the student) will need to provide the restoration disks for your system. I understand that most of my software will need reinstalled after this procedure e.g. Office, iTunes, Adobe Flash, Photoshop, etc. And I as the owner of the system must reinstall them myself. 4. If the system is not picked up after a period of 90 days and after 3 attempts to contact the student have been made I (the student) understand that the Computer Store will dispose of my system(s). 5. Please note that P2P Client software WILL BE REMOVED, including Limewire, BearShare, FrostWire, etc during any TCP/IP related tasks or Virus Removal procedures. 6. You have selected a service for the technician to perform from above. 7. You are the owner of the iPod, and the Music you want backed up was not downloaded illegally. 8. Unless your repair is covered under a hardware warranty through the manufacture you will be charged a minimum repair/assessment charge of $32.50.

Virus Guarantee and Your Liability


The Virus Removal Procedure can easily take a few days. Viruses can easily embed themselves into Windows core components and system services; therefore, the scans involved to find said viruses can be quite lengthy. The work performed on a machine here by the technicians includes the following: 1. Booting into normal mode to check for viruses/note running processes and names of rogue processes or hijacked components. 2. Boot into Safe Mode and removed said hijacked processes. 3. Removal of all temporary Internet files and cached files and files in the recycling bin. 4. Total reset of all browser settings. 5. Cleaning of Registry entries. 6. Stopping of unnecessary start-up programs 7. Removal of all P2P file sharing software 8. Stopping of all auto-run files from USB drives. 9. Hard drive scanning for malware, Spyware, Trojans and Other viruses MULTIPLE TIMES by up to date Virus removal tools, or until system is said by these tools to be Clean. 10. Windows updates and security updates 11. Updates of Anti-Virus Software (were applicable). 12. Documentation of every step. If, before 48 hours after receiving the system back from the technicians, your system is experiencing any SOFTWARE RELATED issues, you can bring the system back into us for further analysis. At which point, the technicians may recommend the re-installation of the Windows Operating system and Data Migration. This process is $80, but you will only be charged $30 since you have already been charged $50 for the initial process. You are, in fact, be responsible for anything virus or spyware related that occurs to your system after the first 48 hours (or Friday through Monday) upon receiving the system. Please note that you will also be responsible for the re-installation of any software that does not come with Windows e.g. iTunes, Microsoft Office, PhotoShop, or any music recording software. If you would like the technicians to install these they will at a fee of $65 per HR to perform the installs for you. You will also be responsible for issuing the Technicians your copy of Microsoft Windows, OSX, and or Recovery media if your system is not manufactured by DELL, or APPLE. If you wish to have this service completed by the technicians of the Duquesne Computer Store, please sign below acknowledging the above statements and agreement.
