Forms of Assistance for Professional Development

Introduction

Professional development may take different forms such as training, on-site processes, networks
and professional development schools. In this manual, they are identified, and the different forms of
assistance given to them are enumerated and defined.

Professional development opportunities:

 Seminars and trainings sanctioned by DepEd or FAPE

 Seminars and workshops from private training and development companies
 Seminars and talks organized by book publications
 Site visit and orientations from our community partners
 In-service trainings
 Team-Building Seminars
 New Projects & Responsibilities business writing, and project management.
 Educational Opportunities
 Mentorship for new teachers by old ones
 Mentorship by the principal and academic coordinator

Forms of assistance for professional development:

1. Loans allotted for professional development schools, graduate studies, and Philippine
Regulatory Commission (PRC) license processing, taking (CPD) units.

Any faculty member or administrator may apply for loans dedicated to their graduate
studies or any professional upgrade directly related to their position in the school.

2. Leave credits allotted for professional development.

Regular employees are excused from absences incurred from attending professional
upgrades, moreover, they may opt to utilize their leave credits for such activities.

3. In and out of campus seminars and trainings sponsored by our education partners like
book suppliers, field trip coordinators, etc.

Our book suppliers annually offer seminars held outside the school where all SSI teachers
and administrators are entitled to attend for free. Food and transportation allowances for
such activities are provided by the school.

4. In and out of campus seminars and trainings sponsored by the local government such as
the Municipality of Norzagaray and Barangay of Bigte.

At least once a year, the school becomes a venue for the local government to hold a
seminar or an orientation intended for all members of the school community. We also offer
our gymnasium for any talk or assembly organized by the local government that is open to
the general public, which our school personnel may freely attend. Some of the activities
that are usually held at the school are waste management seminars, barangay assemblies,
barangay daycare center events, local information drive, etc.

5. In and out of campus talks and orientations sponsored by our community partners such as
MCD Medical and Diagnostic Clinic, Norzagaray Water District, Republic Cement, Corp.,
etc.

At least once a year, our community partners and linkages hold campaigns and information
drives at the school for the benefit of all members of the school community. These activities
usually tackle public safety and basic health for students, teachers and all school personnel.

6. School-based seminars and trainings facilitated by the principal and academic

coordinator.

Even prior to the opening of classes and during the whole school year, the principal and the
academic coordinator provide proper training to all the faculty members preparing them for
both anticipated and unforeseen situations, addressing every need as it arises, and digesting
past situations for maximum learning and retention.

7. School-funded seminars and trainings held in and out of the campus, facilitated by DepEd,
FAPE, and other private training companies.

The school sends representatives to DepEd and FAPE trainings and seminars, who then will echo the
particular seminar to the whole faculty and administrators. Transportation and food allowances for
such activities are provided by the school.

Other professional development opportunities not mentioned above may also be supported by the school
after the following proper application procedures:

 Interested party must write a letter addressed to the principal who then will endorse the request to
the school directress.
 Upon assessment of the request for professional upgrade, the school directress will forward the
letter to the school board for approval.
 Upon approval, the board will allocate budget intended for the said activity.
