Specialty wire cable / rope made of galvanized steel wires. Recommended for use
Safety Products where high strength and small size are required. NOT for aircraft use.

Snow Guards 7x19 strand cable is 7 bundles of 19 strands of cable. 7x19 is the most flexible
aircraft cable construction. 7x19 is approximately twice as flexible as 7x7
Support Systems construction.
Tarps Galvanized coated steel cable is the most common cable type. It provides
moderate corrosion resistance, and remains ductile over long periods when running
Tool Accessories over sheaves. Galvanized steel cables are stronger than stainless steel cables.

SPECIFICATIONS:
Utility grade is made to ASTM A1023 standards
Meets dimensional and strength requirements of MIL-DTL-83420
Galvanized strand products meet or exceed ASTM Specifications A475
and ASTM A363.

Strands are tested for:
Minimum breaking strength
Elongation (High Strength 5%; Extra High Strength and
Utilities Grade 4%)
Individual wire tolerances
Wire coating weight – ASTM Method A90
Wire wrap test for coating adherence
Wire wrap test for steel ductility
Preforming check
Limitations: Wire rope & aircraft cable should never be used at
breaking strength. A 10:1 safety factor minimum is
recommended for critical/overhead application. Do not use for
overhead lifting without consulting a wire rope rigging
professional. End fittings may not hold to 100% of strength
efficiency so a safety factor such as 5:1 should be divided into
the assembly actual strength. A pull test is recommended for
quality assurance.
