PERSONALLY TESTIMONY:

If you ask me, I did not really know what I was meant to do in
life. I had a lot of reasons for taking up law. 1. I already wrote
that in my scrapbook back in high school. 2. It was because I did
not want my potential to go to waste. Sayang naman ang utak.
Saying pagiging cum laude. 3. Part of the reason was because I
wanted to escape the pressure of being in the ministry. Ginawa
kong excuse ang Law school so I would not be pressured into
being pastorized or being part of the ministry. As early as 17 yrs.
Old, we were being pressured to take over the youth ministry
back then.
namin. Yung feeling na hindi ka tinatanong if you wanted to be in
the ministry. It’s just expected of you the moment you were
Page 1 of 12
born. So I wanted to escape all that. I wanted to be normal. So I
entered law school.

“The greatest Tragedy in life is not death but life without

purpose.” – Myles Munroe
- Most people fear death, but many don’t understand that not
being able to discover your purpose will lead to a
meaningless life.
 Walang saysay ang buhay
 Aimless
 Empty (walang kabuluhan)
 Even not worth living (kaya nga maraming tao nag
susuicide because they feel like they do not matter; they
have no purpose)
 Because having purpose motivates us to wake up
everyday. Para kanino ka bumabangon?

What we’re going to tackle about is a very important topic that

we must learn and understand.

 because most people reach their full maturity but still

don’t understand their purpose and destiny!

Jeremiah 1:5

V. 5: “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you,

before you were born, I set you apart, I appointed you as a
prophet to the nations.”

I’m here to encourage you today and tell you that:
 God has a plan for you
 God has something great for your life!!!
And He wants you to live the life that He planned and prepared
for you!

What is purpose?
PURPOSE means:
- the reason (RASON) for which something is done or created or
for which something exists.
-it is one's intention or objective.
MERRIAM WEBSTER:
- aim, (pakay )
- ambition, (pagbabago)
- aspiration, (hangarin)
- dream, (pangarap)
- end, (pagtatapos)
- goal, (layunin)
= idea, intention, meaning, objective, plan, target,

Sometimes, it’s often associated with our career in life. What we

were meant to do. Tama?

If we’re going to dig deeper in Biblical Scripture: PURPOSE

In HEB and Greek- MEANS THE WILL OF GOD
1. Purpose is more important than plans.
2. Purpose is more powerful than plans
3. Plans are man-oriented; Purpose is God-oriented.
I’m not saying it’s wrong to plan your life. Planning your life is
good for as long as your plans are in accordance with God’s will
for your life.
Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the
LORD's purpose that prevails.

WHY Do we need to know our purpose?

ILLUSTRATION:

(TABLE NA PINAGAWA NI PAPA)
Hindi ma appreciate yung table kase hindi pala sya study table
but a kitchen table.

1. To be able to fully utilize our potential.

It’s not that we are not gifted or talented. Sometimes, we are

just in the wrong place or in the wrong function.
You’re not useless, you’re just using your gifts and talents in the
wrong place / ministry / department / course / job.

Balance: However, I am not saying that everything will be easy

for you. There are certain skills/gifts/talents that you have to
cultivate and to work hard on to improve. Hindi naman porke
nahirapan ka, hindi na para sayo iyon. No one said that pursuing
your dream/ goals would be easy. Like in law school, it was the
most difficult thing I have ever done in my life. But because I
wanted what I was doing, I did not stop working on it. Kase kung
alam mong purpose mo yon, then you will endure the process.
But if it’s not for you, you will not last.

2. So that our talents, gifts, time and effort will not go to

waste.

Illustration 2: Booth. Nag arts and crafts ako. Nagkalat lang ako
at ginulo ko. Because I know that I am not an artsy person. I am
not creative pero pinilit ko pa rin. Sinayang ko mga cardboard
naming at glitters. At oras ko.

- If you know your purpose in life, you will not waste time
doing things that aren’t in line with your purpose.

3. To fulfill what God has intended for us.

Proverbs 138:8 The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me.
 It is very important to know that God has raised you up, for
a purpose.
 Nothing in your life is an accident. It’s all for a purpose.
So how do we discover our purpose in life:

1. What are you passionate about? What are you good

at? What potential do you see in yourself?

Romans 12:6-8
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to
each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in
accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve;
if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give
encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is
to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it
cheerfully.

WE ARE ALL GIFTED BUT GIFTED DIFFERENTLY.

preach. Kaya ayan mali mali chords mo lagi.

Yung iba magaling kumanta, magluto, mag mando,

magsalita, magsulat, magaling sa music, etc.

How did I discover that I wanted to be a lawyer?

-Tinignan ko anong skills ang meron ako? I was good in
written and oral communication. I discovered that I had a
skill in studying. I had a certain system.

Little did I know, this certain skill will be effectively

used in the ministry as well. Kaya ayan tuloy, nag preach na
rin ako. Dual sim, dual purpose.

2. Pray about it. Give it time.

Sometimes, God will not immediately give you the whole

picture. You just have to trust in His plans for you.

And what is God’s plan for your life?

= Jeremiah 29:11

Sometimes you discover God’s ultimate purpose for you

when you reach a certain age in your life.

I never thought that my petty excuse to go to law school

was part of God’s plan for me. Ngayon ko narealize that my
profession was going to be used for the Lord / for His
ministry. It is not just a title but a testimony. A testimony of
God’s grace and goodness in my life.

Through time and prayer, God showed me my purpose. That

I was meant to both a lawyer and be in the ministry. Yung
purpose ko.

3. Consult your parents, Pastors, leaders.

- There are potentials in us that we cannot see but our

Parents/ pastors/ leaders see in us.
- Wag mahiya magtanong.
Proverbs 19: 20 Listen to advice and accept instruction that
you may gain wisdom in the future.
Ask your leader, “do I fit in in this department?” “tama ba tong
course na kinuha ko?”
“Is this the right ministry/course for me?” “Am I being
effective?”

Illustration: My greatest mentor and consultant was my dad.

Napabuti naman ang buhay ko.
So it’s very important kung kanino tayo nakikinig. Kase
people’s advice can make or break our future.

Make sure you listen to Godly advice and not worldly
advice. Because your future lies in every decision you
make, so make sure you make the right one.

WHAT IS OUR ULTIMATE PURPOSE OR THE END GOAL OF
ALL THIS?
We have DIFFERENT GIFTS / goals in life but HAVE ONE
ULTIMATE PURPOSE!
In ALL THESE THINGS, our main PURPOSE is TO GLORIFY
GOD!
Exodus 9:16 New International Version (NIV)
16 But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might
show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all
the earth.
TO GLORIFY GOD!
= In whatever aspect that we do
- To worship Him!
- To love Him
- To put HIM first
Ginawa ka ng Dios upang:
- Luwalhatiin mo siya
- Purihin Siya
- Mahalin mo sya
Through the gifts and talents, HE’S Given you.

1. Forever 21.
owners: Do Won Chang and Jin Sook Chang

“John 3:16" Printed on the bottom of each of the store's bags.

The biblical reference is perhaps the most obvious reference to

the religious beliefs promoted by the store's owners, the Chang
Family, who are born-again Christians.

Mrs. Chang told Business Week last year that the store had
religious roots, citing that "God told her she should open a store
and that she would be successful."

The store provoked criticism last summer when it released a slew

of religious-themed tees emblazoned with slogans such as "Jesus
♥ You" and "Holy."

2. SM - Bilyonaryo Henry “Big Boy” Sy Jr., vice chairman of

SM Investments Corp. and major shareholder of the National
Grid Corp. of the Philippines
Big Boy shared how reading the Bible every week has guided him
and led to lasting changes in his attitude and lifestyle.
For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit
his soul?” he quoted a motivational Bible verse.

Big Boy, one of the country’s wealthiest tycoons, now enjoys a

good relationship with God and is focused on pleasing and
honouring Him.

- Glorifying the Lord doesn’t only mean, going into full time
ministry, dedicating your whole life and time just like the
disciples and apostles teaching and sharing the Good news.

- thank God if we are called into that ministry!

- But we can still glorify God even when we work secularly or

even in our studying.
For me, I have a secular job / profession, but I still do it to
glorify God. I still do it heartily unto the Lord.

Nag-aaral ka? Do it for God! Make sure God is glorified in

your life kahit nag-aaral ka pa.

Matthew 5:16
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

YOUR LIFE IS A GIFT, AND WHAT YOU DO WITH YOUR

LIFE IS A GIFT TO GOD!”

- If God has called you to work and pursue a career, don’t

forget God!
- Don’t FORGET giving tithes!
- If God has given you that career or course, do it excellently
for the Lord!
- If God gave you a ministry, pagbutihin mo and give Him the
Glory!

In order now to fulfill your DESTINY:

1. You must establish ORDER! = KAAYUSAN

1 Corinthians 14:33 New International Version (NIV)

33
For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the
congregations of the Lord’s people.

- Ihahanda ka ng Kaayusan; para sa kinabukasan!

- Pag may kaayusan ang buhay mo; mararating mo ang
DESTINY/ TAGUMPAY / PAG -ANGAT.

Pakisabi: AYUSIN MO NA BUHAY MO / UMAYOS KA NA!

Ano Mga bagay na dapat mong ayusin?

 Ngayon palang ayusin mo na pag-aaral mo

 Paglilingkod mo
 Trabaho mo
 Gawaing bahay mo
 Ayusin mo na attitude mo

Because a good life will not just come to you by wishing for it,
you have to work for it. Ngayon palang, ayusin mo na buhay mo
para maging maayos ang future mo.

This ministry did not just crop up from thin air. It started with our
one man deciding to fix his life and give it to the Lord.

You will not fulfill your destiny kung wala kang gagawin.

2. Set Priorities in LIFE

What are your PRIORITIES?
- Priority kong matapos tong subject na to
- Itong course na to. Itong trabaho ko.

You can always determine what your priorities are by how

much time you spend on it.

Saan napupunta ang oras mo?

God should be OUR MAIN PRIORITY

MATTHEW 6:33
Matthew 6:33 New International Version (NIV)
33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these
things will be given to you as well.

EVERYTHING YOU DESIRE WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU, when you put

God first.

FAMILY

MINISTRY / EDUCATION /
CAREER
3. Eliminate wrong relationships
- Be selective and determine your associations carefully

- The people you spend most of your time with can greatly
affect your future and your destiny.
- Gusto ko ba maging kagaya itong taong to?
ASK: How does this person fit into my destiny?
- Our success and failure in life depends largely upon the
people who surround us.
- They can help you fulfill your God-given destiny or pull you
away from your God-given destiny.
- Sometimes you have to break away from UNHEALTHY
people and relationships
- If they don’t nourish and strengthen you, let it go.
“When WRONG PEOPLE LEAVE YOUR LIFE, RIGHT ONES ENTER
IN”

4. Have the RIGHT mindset

The product of your life is the result of your thoughts
That’s why we must watch our thought life.
Negative thinking= neg living
Positive thinking = positive living
“I am destined to have an excellent life”
“My future is secured”
“My God shall supply all my needs”
“Nothing is impossible to those who believe”

“Jeremiah 29:11”

And don’t just think it, declare it. And it shall be yours.

5. Surrender your PLANS TO THE LORD

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s
purpose that prevails.

God can bless our plans, but it is important to know that His
plans are greater.

(insert Bar exam delay)

- His purpose will win and succeed,

that’s why we must surrender our life to the Lord:

- It is He who will bless us

- Who will promote us
- Who will elevate us

So don’t get frustrated when your plans do not go your way,

because that is still part of God’s greater plan for you. You just
have to be patient and trust in Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a]

 Trust in the Lord!

- You’re worried because you have so many problems in your

family, in your finances, sometimes you think that there’s no
Hope
 Give it to God

- You’re worrying about your future?

 Surrender it God and have faith in Him.

 If you want to trust in the Lord today,

 If you want to know your purpose,
 If you want Your future and destiny to be blessed

Give it all to God.
