Department of Education
Region I
SCHOOLS DIVISION OFFICE I PANGASINAN
DASOL DISTRICT
Narrative Report:
It is a big challenge for new teachers like me to adapt to the DepED System.
Fortunately, the department has a program that addresses the important issues of
transition from being a preservice teacher to being a teacher and sets the tone for a
teacher's personal and professional identity. In addition, it will also help me to assist
in understanding my responsibilities to students, the public, and the profession.
During the District Roll Out on IPBT I attended at Eguia National High School
on July 28, 2022, I benefited greatly because I had now an overview of the
coursebook we study.
Our PSDS, Dr. Barmie M. Caluza tackled the Overview and Legal Basis of
the Induction Program for Beginning Teachers. Also, Mrs. Nita S. Leandado
provided us with the background of a DepED Teacher. After our break, Mr. Bryant
B. Leandado introduced the Professional Responsibilities of a Teacher.
After the lunch break, these topics were also discussed: The Philippine
Professional Standards for Teachers and its Aligned Systems and Tools;
Translating the Curriculum into Classroom Practice; Responding to Community
Context; and Teachers Professional and Personal Development. These topics were
tackled by Mrs. Mary Ann Soriano, Mrs. Nita S. Leandado, Mr. Bryant Leandado,
and Dr. Barmie M. Caluza.
Through the question and answer, our concerns about IPBT had been
addressed.
After the significant and collaborative discussion, they announced the mentor
of each beginning teacher. The program ended after the awarding ceremony
through a closing remark.
