The document outlines the detailed process of oil and gas well drilling from site preparation to running the surface casing.

The main steps involved in well site preparation are leveling the site, digging the cellar, mud pit, and drilling the rathole and mousehole.

The conductor pipe is installed to facilitate conventional drilling operations and allow fluid returns to the mud system when drilling the surface hole. It also provides structural support to the well.

4. Conductor pipe hammering

Conductor Hole
A large diameter hole bored to facilitate steel pipe. May be cemented in place to allow
conventional oil and gas well drilling operations ,and also allows fluid returns to a mud
system when drilling surface hole.

CONDUCTOR PIPE INSTALLATION

30” OD x 1”. wall thickness has been selected and Affiliate’s standard for world-wide
exploration and development drilling activities

Pile Hammers
• Diesel pile hammers are used for surface driving operations of conductor pipe.
• The driving depth of the conductor pipe is a function of the sediments in the ground.
• The most common used system is a hammer weight of 18t

temporarily stored during tripping operations.

• Mouse Hole
