A wizard requests you reclaim a memento from his hometown.

The hooded figure appears before you and sits down. Throwing back its cloak reveals a
lich. “I assure you I mean only the most selfish reasons besides furthering my dark powers
these days. I want to reclaim a precious object of my past. Back in my breathing days just before I
became what you see before you I chose to cut all ties and stage my death to the public. With my
death the ritual completed and a fortnight later I arose from my grave as an eternal being. But
back then I was disoriented and my treasure was no where to be found among my discarded
personal bits and pieces. It is only now I realize that the box was buried with me and is most
likely in my now empty grave. I would go myself but I find my home brings back too many
memories. If the box works I will give you the full price but should it be damages I will only
stand for a third of your cost.”
You reach the graveyard and spy the grave keeper near the mausoleum. Good news is
that you figure out the grave keeper is a zombie before you get too close. Bad news is that the
zombie has noticed you too.

As you reach the mausoleum you see a large ornate door with a hole shaped like a large
key in its center. Above the door a large gargoyle with a sapphire gem inset deep in each of its
eyes. Inscribed on the wall of the door is some sort of poem and what seems to be a magical lock.

Inside the mausoleum lies three stone crypts (str 20 check to lift) The first coffin holds a
violent undead creature, the second holds a passive undead, and the third empty. (Search DC 20)
Reveals hidden door and staircase down. Inside the second level of the crypt is a dark hallway
followed by a musty library holding old tomes. Most tomes are ruined beyond reading but some
hold some value if looked into. The next room has another crypt but is surrounded by holy
symbols. Opening the crypt reveals a small box in a desiccated coffin. The next door leads to the
operation room where the remnants of a doctors tools lay on a blood caked table passing the table
activates the tripwire and the swinging pendulum.

After you return the box to the necromancer if it is undamaged he takes out a crooked key and fits
it into the small hole. He cranks the key several times and a Jack-in-the-box pops open as a song
plays. “A memento of my past now if you would like to keep this quiet I have added a little extra
for your silence.”

A possible employer who has a "retrieval" mission

"Thank you for meeting with me. I represent a wealthy entrepreneur who seeks recovery of a lost
item. My client was exploring in the Vile Marsh area of the Shadow Marches when a creature
known as a bulette surprised him and made off with the item in question. Your job is to hunt the
creature and to recover the item. My client will pay handsomely for its return. Any questions?"

At this point, You will probably ask about the item and other details. Use the following
information to carry on the conversation:

"The item? The item to be recovered is my client's lower body. The bulette's bite severed him at
the waist. The legs and pelvis should still be intact in its second stomach by now, but of course
time is of the essence. Identifying characteristics for the item include the hair and muscle patterns
of an adult male shifter, a curving scar on the left thigh, and a pair of dinosaur-leather riding
boots with silver buckles. Should the boots be returned as well, you may expect an extra reward.
Shall we discuss terms?"

If You ask more questions, they receive nothing more than responses that time is of the essence
and that other details concerning the client are not relevant to the task at hand.

Medicine Hunters

good florist, and somebody who can play the harp.

This situation is extremely prickly -- it requires tact, subterfuge, and resourcefulness on the part
of the heroes. For political reasons the father cannot seem as if he is trying to stop the marriage;
in fact, he may have to work against the heroes a bit, encouraging the union to show his love for
his son.
